it seems the deal includes three types of boats for the coast guard.

Ares Shipyard are pleased and proud to announce the signing of an agreement to supply 17 vessels to the State of Qatar, Ministry of Interior Coast Guard.

The vessels supplied will consist of 5 boats at 23m in length, 10 boats of 33m in length and 2 boats of 46m in length.

These Fast Patrol Boats will be constructed using advanced composite materials and are expected to be completed within the next 5 years.

Ares Shipyard are a specialist composite boat builder (though they also build in aluminium and steel) located on the southern shores of Turkey, in the Antalya Free-Zone.

unfortunatley we cant build submarines by our selves 100% as far as I know.

But Turkey already offered to build 3 submarine to Indonesia in collaboration with Germany.

The same can happen if KSA picks the U-214 boats, but I don't believe they will.

If you want tin tubs like Iran, then it's another story.

A better option would be buying chinese rather turkish, with all due respect.

Submarine technology is quite sophisticated, one small mistake can be fatal. Plus they can be quite expensive to maintain. What would work nicely would be for the GCC to have a combined Submarine force, of lets say 10 attack subs and 8 boomers. This way even with 50% redundancy you would have 5+4( when subs go in for maintenance it usually is for a long time)

Anyway, Turkey doesn't have the capability to build such vessels independently at the current time.

Also 11 of these too armed with AShMs.... I think Kuwait and Bahrain also look towards it...
