Chinese tradition and culture is infectious. Yet, the CCP and some members try to restrict the very meaning of being Chinese here. Does CCP, a government merely half a century old, have any right to sole monopoly on something that is thousands of years old? Can CCP pervert the meaning of being a patriot, so as to narrowly define it to mean a person who believes and thinks what he is ordered to, without any due consideration?


Let's be clear -- CCP is not China. Chinese is something that is deep. A true Chinese could never have done the crime of the Cultural Revolution. CCP was a traitor to Chinese civilization for Cultural Revolution.

But the traitors within CCP, the ones who were wed more to their dedication of Class Struggle than to China, more to Communism than to China were defeated. Deng Xiaoping, the greatest Chinese Leader of the 20th century, reverted blind ideology, and brought about a complete transformation. His successors largely kept abreast.

Today I will tell you the story of a Chinese patriot.

I would never have come to Hong Kong if it was going to remain just a British colony. We came because of 1997.

Struggling in the United States with everything, he never forgot what he truly was -- a Chinese. Nothing could have changed that simple fact. He forced her daughter to attend weekend Chinese classes, celebrated Lunar New Year with gusto, and pledged to return to China once the opportunity came in.

He never particularly trusted the Communists. Especially after what they had done to his country in the 60s. But was still willing to give them a chance after the era of Deng.

He kept his contact with the Chinese academic community, got the rare distinction of being a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Finally, he came to Hong Kong, to build the Chinese academic community.

That's why I've always respected them, even though I was born in HK before the 1997 handover, I have always admired what they have achieved. And I have visited the Mainland many times, I have seen and witnessed their achievements with my own eyes.

I will support whoever does what is best for the Chinese people, and that is the CPC. No one else even comes close at this point.

I want to bring another twist to the thread (that is one of the many threads that the OP has launched over the past 12 hours).

I would say, India needs patriots, too. Because too much negativity on the social media. Indian regime is despicable according to many Western media analysts as well as according to many non-Hindu Indians. I wonder why Indian patriots of the very low image of their country.

1) Dirtiest People in the dirtiest nation. If there was a ranking of dirtiest nations, India would take spots from 1 to 10. Visit the nation for proof. Enough said.

2) Most Bureaucratic Nation and also one of the most corrupt.

Try starting up any Businesses there. Good luck with all the bribes you will have to pay and the zillions amount of paperwork to be filled out to get even the simplest permit. Their 'officials' are barely literate and are incapable of even correctly filling out the forms that they themselves mandate. From education to government jobs, nothing is based on genuine merit and achievement but on nepotism and paying bribes.

3) Idiotic people. Low intelligence. Out of a billion people at the most 10, 000 are actually intelligent. These are the ones who make headlines around the world and convey the wrong impression that the rest of the country harbors geniuses. The education system is designed for rote learning. Most of the so called educated cannot come up with an original thought.

No intelligent innovation from this country. The art work is stunted as are the most of their artists.

Their scientists are for the most part not creating anything outstanding. Just holding academic positions for namesake. Even their Space Research Organization is still behind the 60's achievements of the Russians, despite importing all their knowledge and equipment from those Commies.

Their so called 'Intellectuals' are mostly hardcore leftist. Not a surprise because that is what those in the West, who are referred to with the same title, also tend to be. Although it is disastrous enough to be affected by Marxists thinking, what makes it worse is that Indian Intellectuals are actually pathetic mimickers of their Western counterparts. Nothing new in their thoughts to set them apart.

Most disgusting and racist people I have come across. I was eventually removed from my accommodation because they had traveled thousands of miles to my country but couldn't tolerate anyone but their own kind in what became 'they'd house. I was subjected to racist arrogant diatribe, constant noise, hideous smelly cooking which permeated the whole house, threats, lies, physical attacks, broken windows and lies to authorities about things they did that they attributed to me. When I finally retaliated in a small way I ended up on charges since they lagged me to police. They had no problem whatsoever in attacking me as a group of at least four onto one on numerous occasions. Somehow their punches left no bruises. They would laugh about this and their ability to lie to all and yet somehow gain sympathy. My advice: have NOTHING to do with them. So many dumb women in this country want to date them because they are foreign and they like to dress up and look pretty. I know they will regret it in time, it pains me that people could be ignorant about them. They smile and act all nice but their motives are selfish, greedy, and pathetic. They are all about money, power and being number one. Whilst they aren't they hate it and cry foul about the racist country they came to. They always fail to see they bring about their own doom. Cunning, Scheming, Selfish, Arrogant, Dishonest, Thieving, Shirkers, Herd Mentality, Discriminatory, Rude and Impolite. Which group of people in the world can be described so perfectly with these adjectives except the Indians? I am from the northeast India living in the capital since 1983 and since junior level school days in 1975. I live among them for decades and have seen them at close angles for decades. I know them more than they know themselves. They think too much of themselves without realizing how dumb and dishonest they are. They are immoral in unprinciple group of people whose habit is to lick the boots of people whom they look up to and kick anyone who cannot fight them back. That is the reason why Kashmir, northeast India and tribal states in central India are muffled and murdered silently. Indians are the most beastly people on earth and they will receive their reward from the universal principle of justice. Neither Modi nor Rahul can save them or their make-believe economic growth can save them. It is only a matter of time. Western Imperialism/ colonialism are hated as an economic system at a very broad level. The wretchedness of Indians pertains to their horrendous individual traits and characteristics. CPC respect the law of history and the need of most Chinese people, so it defeated KMT. CPC was a young party when PRC established, and the modernization of China still lags behind decades by the western, so during the long lasting period from 1949 to now, CPC renovated itself many times, to prevent from making similar mistakes and focus only on economy construction with several revolutionary reforms. Now CPC is becoming a mature party, it could do better.

Yes, I totally agree on this. Without the CPC, my relatives in China will still be poor peasants. My god, in 20 years they have overtaken us in Malaysia.

CPC by its very form and function today take roots in ancient Chinese bureaucratic system and political culture, which values meritocracy rather than democracy thus incorporated with traditional Confucian values and many other schools of thoughts, coincide with Lee Kuan Yew in OP's other thread.
indeed CPC is not China, but it's not a political party in the same sense like in other societies either. it's the entire governance structure. suggestions like 'remove the party' in China's case is practically suggesting anarchy which is any Chinese's worst nightmare, regardless of whether he/she is a party member. besides the transformation of China is visible, especially for Chinese living in PRC.
