The Official NFL Thread - 2016/2017

Cop out...you can't support the elite teams as a newbie. That's like supporting Barca/RM/Bayern!

Support a crap team...go through the struggles and pains!
Why?? elite teams play well and that's why I support a good team
Talking of best , I think you meant Madrid and MU:-)

.
Whatever happened to Rg3?
- Mike Shanahan never ever wanted him. So, that was something going against him from day 1.
- He wasn't built like Cam Newton, but thought he could run like him and absorb the same sort of punishment....he was wrong
- He refused to look at his strengths and acknowledge his weaknesses...
- Remember he was out of his world his rookie season, but even then, his flaws were obvious
- His body is now broken, as you saw with the injury in the opening game of the season for the Browns.

Glory hunter!

I'm a United fan going back to the mid 90's. We are sadly no longer the best...be lucky to get 4th place and a CL spot this season. Looks like Fergie really did do a deal with the devil, and once he left...he took all our success with him!

Well said, I agree, he was good but definelty not a Cam Newton. Rg3 and Geno Smith of Jets (dont know if you remember him) were two sides of the same coin. Talented but not ready for the big stage I guess.
Another one who ruined his career was Michael Vick, he was great but really self-imploded

Come on now....Geno Smith was shit.

RGIII tore up the league in his rookie season, won ROY and until he tore up his knee, looked like one of the most exciting players to have entered the league. He had some weaknesses in his game - as with most running qb's. Look at Cam's career passing accuracy - it is POOR.

RGIII simply got caught up in the hype and thought he knew it all - he wanted to prove he was a pocket passer, when in reality he wasn't. Hell, until this pre season he didn't even bother to learn how to slide (such was his arrogance).

I still feel that Geno is a better option than Fitzpatrick, but that's just me. Getting back to RG3, do think he will make a decent comeback when he does?

Odell looks like he's on his way to a HoF career...he's turning into the new T.O. - for all the good he does, his immaturity is going to hurt his team.

He needs to learn from players like Julio Jones and Antonio Brown - on the field they are no nonsense guys. They simply get the job done, Odell has more talent than them both, but mentally he is messed up....he gets wound up by everyone.

@GreenFalcon Fitz is a mediocre quarterback, but he's still better than Geno. Don't let the 9 ints in the past two weeks fool you. As for RGIII - nah, he's done. He's young, so he'll bounce around the league as a backup for a couple of years and then he'll be gone.

This was his chance, and the injury screwed him.

Yeah thats the only thing about Odell, he is very immature and reacts poorly when the opposing teams shut him down. He has to realize that everyone has good days and bad days, but I guess he'll improve as time goes by.
Jets on the other hand having been struggling when it comes to having a proper QB. Fitz is good but he is no Brady either, I think the Jets need better team management and coaching because even the best can't perform to their potential if not guided in a proper way.

B-more Ravens all the others are just posers.
Oh no you didn't. You had your time...Ray Lewis is a distant memory and Flacco is unreliable.

Plus, I'm a Virginia guy...gotta hate the Ravens, like I hate the Terps. Not the O's though...they were around, when the Nats weren't

.
Pretty self explanatory, right?

With all the expats on this forum, plus the odd American....surely, we've got some NFL fans.

Speak up fellas...so,

Who do you support and why?
Favorite player?
Most hated player?
Team you despise the most?
Who'll win the SB this season?

1. Redskins - Lived in Virginia for a significant part of my life
2. Antonio Brown
3. J.J. Watt
4. Pats
5. Pats :(

1. Who do you support and why - Philadelphia Eagles (my hometown team)

2. Favorite player - Carson Wentz followed closely by Ndamukong Suh.

3. Most hated player - honestly don't have one

4. Teams you despise the most - I know I'm supposed to despise teams in my division (NFC east) but despise it's too strong a word. but If I root against any team the most it would be the cowboys I guess.

5. Who will win the Superbowl - the most unbiased answer I can give at the moment is the Patriots.

I like the ravens too, they lost to the raiders on Sunday but it was good game nonetheless

Well then...we've got most of the NFC East represented, just need a Cowboys fan to complete the set.

Wentz has looked really good - they kept it simple initially, but last couple of weeks, he's made some crazy throws. Looks like you guys got the right guy....

A fan of Suh - a rarity with his bad rep. Surprisingly though - he is very well spoken and articulate and at times an absolute beast on the field.
