Sure, but we are not talking about history and science we are talking about which is popular DESPITE the historical and scientific facts...Well their museums have thousands of works of art from all over the world. I'm sure many are not even religious. So yes it is highly probable that many are not exactly historically/scientifically accurate.
MOST of the works are from Italy itself
Oh I never talked about Churches but you can check those in Europe too...When I visit the cities here, 1 of the main things I do see is churches....and well yes most of them have baby Jesus with Mother Mary as either brunette or Baby Jesus with blonde curl-ish hiar...No doubt I have also seen the brunette Jesus but never the version the artist made from the skulls....Not a single Jesus has a flat nose.....all with straight pointy nose (irrespective of the hair and eye colour)But you are making it sound like their churches are full of blonde blue eyed figures.
I dont know if that is from inside a church- though Jesus's nose is still long ..I am not even sure where that pix is from Vatican museum tour was kind of long dont recall all the pix...Could be from Vatican or someplace else the pope visited?I included a pic (from inside a church with you know who right next to it!!)
You posted you should tell us where it is from...While the ones I posted were all from the Vatican museum and I am sure you know Leonardo's work of the ceiling of the Sistine chapel where the pope worships
If the Jesus there isnt historically accurate .....why alter him in the highest place in Roman Catholic church?
Just curious...you dont have to answer ...
Is it the most famous? Then you should be able to tell me who made it and where it can be found specifically, right? That is one of the most famous pictures
Coz the most famous one my paid tour wanted us to take in was Leonardo's work of the ceiling of the Sistine chapel...where the Genesis is painted and almost all the figurines look like Zeus...The reasoning our guide a historian told us was coz Leonardo was so inspired by the old Roman culture that he incorporated them in his paintings......kind of answers the question as to where the alteration began or ended up with the white Jesus
