The myth of the hidden hand

Well Sir, to be honest, if you haven't noticed already, in reality Pakistanis really do not want any substantive changes. Whether I am willing to work for it, or not, becomes irrelevant given the situation.
WTF? Democracy isn't just about elections! For example, the Holy Roman emperors of old were "elected" but that was hardly a democratic process. Democracy is about self-governance.

Forget about the Zardaris, Sharifs, Bhuttos, etc. True democrats don't put their faith in princes. You have to work to persuade your fellow citizens. You talk, organize, craft an agenda, create a sub-culture.

Otherwise, you're just a peasant seeking the most favorable master, yes?

Not just me Sir, all of Pakistan is like that, and we seem to be pretty happy with it.

Summary of the post

Denial, it could be said, is a river that runs through Pakistan.

Argus,
i believe that your helplessness & despair is something only a desi can understand.
indians are like this too, about our politicos.

There is no helplessness or despair in what I say. It is only pragmatism and realism without prejudice or preference.

Pretentious, selfish, and amoral I'd say, if I hadn't witnessed the despair of Pakistanis first-hand.
