Did you know that the Department of Defense holds an annual photo competition for the best military photograph of the year? Yes, and it’s called the Visual Information Awards Program and it celebrates the work of videographers, photographers, journalists, graphic artists and mass communication specialists, all serving in the US Armed Forces.

With more than 2,432 photos entered into the annual competition, the winners of its 2015 competition have been officially announced. This year’s winner is Staff Sgt Kenny Holston, USAF.
