The HAL Light Observation
Helicopter (LOH ) is under
development by Hindustan
Aeronautics Limited of India .
The 3 -tonne single engine
light helicopter for the Indian
Army and the Indian Air Force
will replace the fleet of
Cheetah and Chetak
helicopters . The project is in
preliminary stages and is in
the design phase . The project
will be completed within next
5 -6 years . [1 ] The India
military have a requirement
for 384 helicopters of which
187 helicopters will be built by
HAL and the rest of the LOH
will be procurred from
another country and the
eurocopter is the most
preffered in the list .
