WW2 in numbers. Interesting visualization of civilian and military death statistics to make sense of enormity of WW2 deaths. Also points to the fact that we are living at the most peaceful time, ever in human history.
sincerely, you have wasted your time and download limit on this vid.
i describe how below and i must say i don't trust anyone who prefers to use mathematical graphs in place of plain words and numbers... the real world is not a mba college.
firstly, it is incorrect to use number of deaths and say that we now are living in the most peaceful time... millions will disagree with you, facts will disagree with you, the current every day news will disagree with you... does this picture
[1] from the libya war in 2011 suggest "a most peaceful time"??
the acts was done by nato's ntc "rebels"... more of their "peace work" here
[2]... and in some of these "peace works", western special forces participated, notably usa and belgium... i wonder what the former usa army soldier member here, jhungary, would say about this... and after world war 2 until 2009, 65 notable wars were fought and this was made known to the uno general assembly in september 2009 through the 1.38 hour speech of muammar gaddafi
[3].
secondly, there is clear bias in the vid against the anti-capitalist movements and bloc... it begins in the description about world war 2 when among the german civilian deaths at the hands of the nazis the narrator mentions deaths of homosexuals ( gays presumably ) but no mention is made of the killing of german communists... this then continues into mention of stalin supposedly not allowing civilians to evacuate from cities and then the mention of stalin killing ussr citizens in gulags... and then no mention is made of the korea war where four million north koreans civilians and soldiers died... in indonesia between 1965 and 1966, reactionary elements in the army aligned with the western capitalist-imperialist bloc ( as ever ) massacred between 500,000 and one million communists and suspected supporters and sympathizers
[4]... some say more... before the massacre, by 1965, the indonesian communist party ( pki ) had become the largest communist movement in the world... it is a shameful shameful act that today's indonesians have either forgotten/ignore this massacre or are not allowed by the mullah-loving capitalism-loving nato-aligned government
[5] to speak of this absurd massacre.
thirdly, just because the european/western countries ( like usa, britain, germany and france ) are not fighting against each other, how is it even sensible to use that and say all is happy with the world?? what about european and western countries constantly invading countries and genociding?? do the people in grenada, iraq, laos etc not matter??
fourthly, it is absurd to hear the vid's narrator saying that there has been no old-style colonialism after 1945 much less any atrocities... the algerian war of independence of 1954 to 1962 against the post-ww2 continuation of the french colonial government saw the deaths of between 350,000 to 1.5 million algerians
[6], though historians aligned with the france establishment quote less... and then there is the neo-colonialism of the usa-government-led post-ww2 nato capitalist-imperialist bloc whose invasions and regime-change plots have led to countless deaths, massacres and genocides that continue to this day.
