The concept of Indo-Pak limited war

For the last couple of days Pakistanis on the forum/elsewhere believe that India is itching for a limited war.

Now no sane nuclear armed country wants to go to an all-out war with another nuclear armed country, also we can very well understand that no country can keep a war limited if the other chooses to escalate

I always beleived that Pakistan is the one that should fancy a limited war (Kargil for example) as then India's numerical superiority will be negated in that case but now its infact the opposite, Can somebody throw some light on

What is this concept of limited war? (some sane scenario)
Does a limited war suits India or Pakistan more?
What will be India's/Pakistan's objective in a limited war?

The only way a limited war between Pakistan and india can be defined is border firing. Any cross border conflict would be a full blown catastrophic devastation.
