What's new

The Beautiful Land of Korea, the eternal, the ancient, the glorious!

Hahaha, yes, 24/7 K. drama during prime time, complete with reruns in the afternoons in SG. Same with my wife, fashion, food, & all sorts of seeming useless stuff, & dun forget the shoes!

I understand your pain! But let's be fair, my wife deserves her share of spend, since her hubby is not less fanatic about other "useless" stuff. For her, a JP-spec right-hand steering Nissan without Shanghai road license is most useless, but for her hubby it's a religion!

Yes, I mostly am a fan of Hong Kong Martial arts films :)

Also check the HK movie "Initial D", see AE86, that's true soft power!

Hehe, must balance your expenditure, buy her a dress, buy yourself a car. :D

It should interesting to note that Beakdu/Changbai itself is divided in half between China & N.K. This mountain is not only considered sacred to the Koreans but also to the Manchus. Breathtaking mountain!

Yes bro, speaking as a Manchu (正蓝旗-吴札尔瑚氏; see the flag below) myself, the Mountain is like a sacred place not just for the Joseon/Korean people but Manchus.

Truly breathtaking, the land of our Altaic brothers <3

If you call Korean as Altaic brothers, I suppose you are Turkic not Swedish am I right?

Actually Altaic is quite a large group including Turkic, Korean, Mongolic, Japonic and Tungusic/Manchu, etc. Well I am not an academic in this subject. Maybe @Nihonjin1051 can help?

It is a very broad "other" category" (stuff that doesn't fit in the classical groups).

The inclusion of Japanese and Korean in the group both linguistically and ethnically is quite controversial and full of debate still.

Compared to grouping of Altaic that includes Korean and Japonic, there is an alternative grouping for multi-ethnic China as in below chart.

As shown in the chart, Korean is standalone group, while Altaic includes the usual Mongolian, Turkic and Tungusic (Manchu).
