I visited the bay area about three years ago and didn't see any homeless people. The few 'street people' seemed to have drug/mental issues. It may depend where you go.

I am sure you wold defend your home country if it was grossly misunderstood or unjustly attacked, but it doesn't mean you have to move back. It is OK to take pride of the progress of ones home country, even if he/she is still living in a foreign country for personal reason or by personal choice. No need to feel offended or to be aggressive.

I can’t tell much about San Francisco. Go ask the Chinese posters here. There is Chinatown. Foods are not too great but ok. Roast ducks are good. Pork rice soup great.

I live in south San Jose , near Hellyer Park. Don't start me off about the homeless in this region as the pictures will be shocking
As for San Francisco, I decided I would walk a few miles to the tourist spots to fisherman's wharf from San Francisco county hall. I had to walk over quite a few homeless people , I thought I was in India.

As for the Vietnamese , what happened to all the prostitutes who entertained the US soldiers in Saigon, they were transported somewhere for enjoyment , guess where?
