In this day and age, smartphones have become a necessity, seeing as how they can help us check emails, navigate via maps, check up on social media, shop or talk to loved ones.

For that matter, ProPakistani has compiled a list of smartphones below Rs. 10,000 for those who are looking to get their first smartphone or carry a disposable secondary one. This post is intended for those who are not eager to throw a lot of money on a phone for whatever reasons.

So without further ado, lets get to it.

1. Amazon Fire Phone – 32GB
Amazon-Fire-Phone-e1480936492753.jpg

The most unique and the most expensive phone on the list. This phone runs a heavily modified version of Android and it looks completely different from a traditional Android interface. This operates very differently from other smartphones on this list, as it has no other buttons on the front aside from the home button.

It features 4 cameras on the front with 2 Infrared sensors to track your face. This is for the 3D Dynamic Perspective which the phone uses to give you the effect of looking through a window from your phone. You can see it in effect in the video below.

Other than that the basic features/specs of the phone are also the best you can find in this price range. It has a Snapdragon 800 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. It does not come with expandable storage.

The camera is also the best in this category of Rs. 10k phones, with a 13 MP sensor with Optical Image Stabilization included. The front camera is pretty ordinary with a 2 MP shooter.

The battery should last you through at least a day of usage with a 2,400 mAh unit.

This phone costs around Rs. 9800 in the local markets.

Amazon Fire Phone Specifications

  • CPU: Quad-core 2.2 GHz Krait 400
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 800
  • OS: Amazon Fire OS v3.5 (Android based OS), upgradable to v3.6.5
  • Supported Networks: 2G, 3G, 4G LTE
  • Display:
    • 4.7-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS
    • 3D Dynamic Perspective
  • Memory:
    • RAM: 2 GB
    • Internal: 32 GB
    • Card slot: no
  • Camera: 13 MP, LED flash, OIS, video recording @1080p 30fps Secondary: 2.1 MP
  • Battery: 2,400 mAh
2. GFive President G9
GFive-President-G9.jpg

The President G9 is one of the best phones on the list. This is because the mix of specifications it offers for its price is second only to the Amazon Fire Phone mentioned earlier in the list.

On the display side of things this phone has a giant 720p (1280 x 720) 5.7 inch screen which makes other phones look tiny in comparison. The pixels might look blown up when viewed up close but it shouldn’t be a major issue.

It is powered by a Quad-Core 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT 6589 processor with 1 GB RAM. The storage might be a problem with only 4 GB of internal memory. It does however support expandable storage of up to 32 GB.

The back camera is an 8 MP shooter with an LED flash. It can record videos of up to 720p (1280 x 720) resolution. The front camera might be better than the Amazon Fire Phone at 3 MP but not much.

Unfortunately this phone does not have 3G connectivity. Make sure to keep this in mind before buying it.

The 2500 mAh battery coupled with the large screen might pose issues for those who like their phones to last a full day with heavy usage.

This phone costs around Rs. 8000 in the local markets.

GFive President G9 Specifications

  • CPU: Quad-core 1.3GHz ARM Cortex A7
  • Chipset: MediaTek MT 6589
  • OS: Android 4.1 Jellybean
  • Supported Networks: 2G only
  • Display:
    • 5.7-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS
  • Memory:
    • RAM: 1 GB
    • Internal: 4 GB
    • Card slot: Yes, up to 32 GB
  • Camera: 8 MP, LED flash, video recording @720p 30fps Secondary: 3 MP
  • Battery: 2,500 mAh
3. QMobile Noir W70
Qmobile-Noir-W70.jpg

This phone covers up for what the previous phone lacks, and comes at a slightly smaller price tag as well.

The QMobile Noir W70 has a 4.5 inch display with 854 x 480 resolution. On the inside, this phone has a quad-core Mediatek MT 6580 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. It comes with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage. There is a microSD card slot available on the phone which allows for 32 GB of expandable storage.

It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop compared to the older Android 4.1 Jellybean on the GFive.

The camera uses a 5 MP sensor with autofocus and an LED flash. It can record video at up to 720p (1280 x 720) resolution. The front camera uses a 2 MP sensor but is only limited to 480p video recording capability.

The battery is much smaller than the President G9 at only 1,850 mAh. This phone will also last you through the day, but barely.

This phone costs around Rs. 7600 in the local markets.

QMobile Noir W70 Specifications
  • CPU: Quad-core 1.3GHz ARM Cortex A7
  • Chipset: MediaTek MT 6580
  • OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • Supported Networks: 2G, 3G
  • Display:
    • 4.5 inches with 854 x 480 resolution, IPS
  • Memory:
    • RAM: 1 GB
    • Internal: 8 GB
    • Card slot: Yes, up to 32 GB
  • Camera: 5 MP, LED flash, video recording @720p 30fps Secondary: 2 MP
  • Battery: 1,850 mAh
4. Motorola Droid Razr M
Motorola-Droid-Razr-M.jpg

Another unique entry to the list, Motorola Droid Razr M brings a lot more to the budget phone category.

This is mainly due to the fact that it has a kevlar back (yes, the material used to make bullet-proof jackets) and is water resistant.

Motorola Droid Razr M comes with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display with a 960 x 540 resolution. This is also the only phone in this price range to feature an AMOLED screen.

The internals feature a dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, which is pretty ancient. It should work just fine as Motorola features a near stock version of Android which is pretty light on hardware usage. It has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. It has a microSD card slot and allows cards of up to 32 GB in size.

The back camera has an 8 MP shooter with an LED flash. It can record videos at up to 1080p (1920 x 1080) which is higher than the QMobile and the GFive phone. The front camera is a VGA camera and can record video at up to 720p (1280 x 720).

  • Battery: 2,000 mAh
5. Lenovo A1000
Lenovo-A1000.jpeg

The last phone on the list but not the least in any way. Lenovo A1000 is the cheapest phone in the list but should offer enough to make it worth the price. This phone is the only dual sim phone in this list as well.

On the outside the Lenovo A1000 has a 4.0 inch screen with 800 x 480 resolution. It is a TFT display which is brighter than the regular IPS but doesn’t offer similar color quality.

The processor is a quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. It has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. It has a dedicated microSD card slot which supports cards of up to 32 GB in size.

The back camera is a 5 MP shooter with an LED flash. It can record video at up to 720p (1280 x 720) resolution. The front camera is an old VGA camera which can only take photos unfortunately.

This phone features Android 5.0 Lollipop, the newest one compared to other phones in this list. QMobile Noir W70 is the only other phone to feature this OS version.

Lenovo A1000 has a 2,000 mAH battery which should last a full day of usage. This phone costs around Rs. 6500 in the local markets.

I bought one Haeir from Pakistan, think it was name like esteem. Not satisfied at all. Specially it had problem with WiFi and slow browsing.

From Q, I bought a tab that gone into RIP state just after 10 months. A friend of mine has diagnosed it with faulty storage IC and Q's own service center couldn't even find any fault.

I am still happily living with my seven years old legend, Nokia C7 and one new baby iphone 6plus

I am not into mobiles but both C7 and iphone are tough guys, that's what I need. I have tiny knowledge about mobile market. Pakistani mobiles were just experiments, which proved to be true brothers of Pakistani Suzuki Mehran :)

.
First don't even think for Qmob, it's just a waste. One other phone which is missing in this list is Microsoft lumia 435 dual sim which I purchased in Rs. 4540 from daraz.pk and updated to Windows 10. it's great.

Its simple logic if you want "Smart Phone" then your phone should be "smart". Jitna Gurr Utna Mitha.
