How do you figure that? The goal is to do with consumer vehicles what Waymo is already doing with commercial vehicles...just not with the huge array of ugly sensors covering the car.

You don't know if Waymo has a remote driver watching after the car. I am not sure how much of the Chinese self driving is fact.

You really think if Waymo did they are going to 100% trust that the connection latency will always be good enough to get them out of a jam? Likely the only thing a watcher could do is invoke an emergency pull over action.

Besides when the vans do get in trouble they pull over and a service truck comes by with a driver. No attempt is made to remotely drive the car.
