Yes, we would like to thank the CPC and BYD for dropping the ball and allowing Tesla to be cited in the history books as the company that lead to the rise of mass produced 100% EV's just like Henry Ford did with the combustion engine and the Model T.

Henry Ford posing for the history books with the 1908 Model T. He brought what was once something exclusively for rich people to the masses.

Elon Musk and the Model 3. Making the EV mainstream for the masses in 2017.
In 2008 (100 years after Ford and the Model T) Warren Buffett having no faith in American car companies ever producing a worthwhile EV buys into Chinese BYD believing THEY will be the company which will go down in history as the Ford of EV's. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way. Tesla was just guys in a garage back then.

"Warren Buffett, America's best-known investor, announced Monday that he had agreed to buy a 10 percent stake in a Chinese battery manufacturer that
plans to sell electric cars in the United States by 2010."
It's 2021 and there's no BYD cars on our roads...meanwhile Tesla has the #1 selling EV in China for the 2020 year.
