Murder, rape, torture, destruction of world heritage, and atrocities against minorities and whoever refuses to adhere to their ideologies are hallmarks of all terror groups who have emerged in the last few decades. There is good evidence that Al Qaeda and Taliban in the Af-Pak region have been cut to size. There are still remnants of these groups creating problems here and there; like the attack in Kabul and Peshawar recently, where many innocent civilians were killed along with military personnel.

It is hard to say what drives theses groups and their followers, but the one thing that is clear is that no religion ever condones their evil agenda and vicious actions. We have seen poll after poll where people of the regions where these groups operate openly have rejected them and their ideologies. Some will argue as to why we still see people from all over the world trying to join groups like ISIL. All I can do is speculate as to why? The reason that comes to mind is that they are misled or attracted by violence; especially the young, this is all like video games for them. It cannot be religious teachings as no religion supports the kind of atrocities perpetrated by these groups.

Terrorists have been put on notice. It is an encouraging sign that over forty countries including the major Middle Eastern players have joined in the coalition against ISIL, one of the most brutally violent groups that has emerged recently. Yesterday, President Obama addressed the United Nations seeking to bolster a global coalition that he said would train and equip troops to fight the group, known as ISIL, starve it of financial resources, and halt the flow of foreign recruits to its ranks. “Those who have joined ISIL should leave the battlefield while they can,” President Obama said, foreshadowing the blows to come. “For we will not succumb to threats, and we will demonstrate that the future belongs to those who build, not those who destroy.” The brutality of the militants, he said, “forces us to look into the heart of darkness.” Even so, President Obama said, the threat from the Islamic State was only the most urgent of an onslaught of global challenges that have given the United States no choice but to take the lead.

The writing is on the wall; terrorism has no place on planet earth. Majority of its resident have already shown that they stand against atrocities and would not let a handful of define how to live their lives. Freedom and peace is the call of the time anyone who rejects it, stands no chance.

I could not have said it better myself. This is not about religion, this is an abuse of religion and an offense towards God/Allah, all of this violence to determine which flavor of Islam should dominate the world.

We have a word for that : "meglanomania" = the desire to dominate the world by whatever (violent) means.

I have sent detailed descriptions to info-at-whitehouse-dot-gov, info-at-cia-dot-gov, and nsapao-at-nsa-dot-gov about what needs to be done to prevent these war hungry foolish "muslims" from spreading mayhem in their western countries of origin.

US CentCom, you're not alone in this idealogical battle.
I'm going to increase my presence on this forum to help you guys out point out how foolish these islam-domination desires really are.

each response in this war on terror was provoked by muslims. action = reaction. terrorism = a permission to use force against terrorists. a permission to prune the ranks of muslim terrorists whenever it flares up as it does with ISIS. Your Allah will be much displeased with the actual results of muslim terrorism in His name.

. Please stop the middle east from sponsoring them and get over the victim hood while you are it

Did you even understand what I said? I'm referring to Washington's and other governments' widespread use of state terrorism throughout the world dummy. Don't you feel ashamed of being such an ignorant dumbass? ISIL is not Washington's target (they created it), the Syrian government is. One ignorant comment again and you are on my ignore list, you don't deserve a response because you have no brain and I despise brainless people.

Now its easier for the americans to say that "terrorism has no place in a civilized world" because there are no weak leftist countries left in the world against which america used to sponsor terrorism.
So for americans, No communism = civilized world
American government means to say that american terrorism project has ended so others should end their as well.

Terrorism exists because of religion, almost all terrorists are religious and yes its not fair that a minority can do that but its a constant minority that has been doing it since religions first came about, there is always a problem that wouldnt exist if religion didnt.

So according to your theory, Western politicians (+ the media and corporate leaders) who are constantly waging wars of aggression are all religious? Don't forget that wars of aggression = state terrorism and they usually cause far more destruction and suffering than the acts of some terrorist group. The truth of course is that people who claim to be religious and commit violence do not believe in God at all for God is not a violent psychopath and hypocrite like they are. All wars are waged because people want to dominate other people and countries and steal their resources. They just use religion as one of their tools to achieve their objectives.

BTW, I have aways liked the following quote, absolutely briljant;

"Terrorism is the war of the poor, and war is the terrorism of the rich.”
