Tens of Thousands Gather for Anti-Government Protests in Macedonian Capital

Anti-government protesters flooded the streets of Skopje, capital of Macedonia on Sunday, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.

Led by the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM), the country's main opposition party, tens of thousands people gathered outside the government building in Skopje's central square, a RIA Novosti correspondent on the scene has reported.

Carrying Macedonian and Albanian flags and banners saying "Goodbye Nikola!" and "Censorship is Forbidden", the protestors chanted "Resign!" from time to time. A large screen installed on the square showed video of simple Macedonians complaining about high levels of unemployment and corruption, after which opposition figures stepped out before the crowd to criticize the government for its ineffectiveness in solving these problems.

russia has no interest in macedonia at all. There is nothing of interest for Russia.

In fact muslims in macedonia and albania will revolt against greece and destabilize european union. many border clashes already happening.

balkan was always a place of revolts against the establishments.

I'm not surprised, because I know it. Iran - the only major barrier for the United States in its plans to create an arc of instability and chaos from the Maghreb to Central Asia (including Chinese Xinjiang). And Syria - is a barrier in the way to Iran.

Russia is the one destroying Ukraine. Syria too uses mostly Russian weapons and so do the militants who loot them.

The west does creates instability in many region using non state actors

Russia is the one destroying Ukraine. Syria is an American/Arab/Turkish/French operation, nothing to do with the UK.

Of course! After all, Russia is so advantageous to have a flaming volcano along its most vulnerable border! Millions of refugees! Thousands of tons of humanitarian aid every month - it's so cool!
