Tej Bahadur needed regular counselling; suffered from alcoholism: BSF on its soldier's video
New Delhi, Jan 9: Border Security Force (BSF) late Monday night came out to speak against their soldier Tej Bahadur Yadav of the 29 battalion Seema Suraksha Bal, who earlier today in a video exposed the rot in the system by revealing the deeply ingrained corruption in the higher order saying that the troops there are not even getting basic three square meals. The BSF issued a statement saying Constable Tej Bahadur as an individual has a difficult past and from initial days of his career, he needed regular counselling.
Describing his behaviour BSF said, “He was a habitual offender of absenteeism without permission, suffered from alcoholism, and misbehaved with superior officers; and for this reason, he has served mostly in headquarters under the supervision of some dedicated superior officer.”
About the video he released, BSF stated, leaving apart the background of individual; a DIG rank officer has reached location to investigate the circumstances alleged in video.
Yadav in the video said that the soldiers stand for 11 straight hours every day regardless the weather or temperature, but they are treated in the worst possible way imaginable. He was also seen saying neither the media nor any minister tries to take a note on how are we going through this (harsh weather). He further stated, “Our conditions are still worst(humare halat wahi darbartar hain).” “After this, I will send three videos that will show how our officials are mistreating us. We do not want to blame any government because they give everything we need, but our senior officials sell everything (for their own profit),” the jawan was seen saying. The video then shows shots of dried up chappatis and runny daal, where Yadav’s voice can be heard saying that there are ven times when the soldiers have to go to sleep on an empty stomach.
After the video went viral on social media, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday sought a report from the Home Secretary and directed him to take appropriate action on the same.
