So my Dell Inspiron 3552 isn't charging. And when i plug it in it sometimes shows the charging symbol at the bottom right and says: "plugged in, not charging." I'm confused about whether it is the charging jack or the AC adapter charger itself.

The end of the charger which you plug into the jack is basically always bent when I'm on my bed. The charger jack is on the left side of the laptop and I have to bring the charger from the right.

I should add that I was getting the message "45W AC Adapter cannot be determined" or something like that.

I've noticed when I play around with the tip of the charger when it's plugged in, in some postions it would show the charging symbol and I would have to keep it there steadily or it won't show it anymore.

I'm usually on my bed with my laptop so if the end of the charger is bent would that have affected it? If not then would the charger jack be the problem?

shut your laptop place your laptop battery and your charger in the freezer for 5 mins and than put back every thing together it will work.

Here is my experience with Dell. The battery died almost exactly at the two years mark when the warranty expired. I now use it like a regular computer by always keeping it plugged in.

The laptop usually comes with a software to 'recalibrate' the battery. Try that. Another option is to completely drain the battery to 0 power and recharge. Other than that, I know of no authentic way of getting the battery back. The suggestion of putting into freezer sounds really dangerous. Batteries are not to be exposed to extreme temperatures.

His battery and charger are getting heated and that's why the charger stops working. forget the freezer place it in some place where temperature is cold.
