To me it looks like India's balkanization on north and south lines is inevitable. I mean when was the last time someone from south actually had some power in India? South indians are the ones contributing most to India's GDP but piss cow poor northeners rule them.

"One of the most stunning aspects of the entire movement against the jallikattu ban is how a predominantly rural issue garnered the sympathy and active support of urban sections of the state. The ban was widely perceived as an assault on Tamil culture—an interference in and imposition on millennia old bio-cultural traditions by those who did not understand the socio-economic tapestry of rural life in Tamil Nadu. This spontaneous outburst across different parts of the state was coordinated loosely over social media by volunteer groups. The protests snowballed as colleges declared holidays, employees struck work and IT professionals began forming human chains in support of jallikattu. It's estimated that over seven lakh people participated state-wide."

The anti north indian feeling among tamils was worst in 60s.... especially due to imposition of hindi on them... but Indian leaders handled it well, and federal structure ensured their voice was heard... (and we avoided a situation that pakistan faced in late 60s ending in 71)
I am pretty sure there will be more negotiations... Indian democracy has that flexibility.

Ha ha good joke.. Protest is part of a healthy democracy.. Analysing a protest in different angle is part of journalism.. Giving it a colour to massage ones own ego is foolishness..

RSS Government immediately pleaded to the demands of Tamils by forming laws to allow Jallikkattu (Bull fighting). No Arshbharata, No Vedic culture, No Holy Gau Mata - All packed to the drawer when they learned that Tamils are really serious. Now, in the Tulunad region similar to Tamils wants their "Kambala" (Buffalo racing) - traditional racing of buffaloes. I'm happy to see RSS and North Indian Hindutva is slowly started failing in Tulunad belt which has seen intolerance and riots after RSS polarized the Hindus there especially the influential groups like Bunts.

kambala

South India won't be going away from Indian Union. HOWEVER, RSS enforcing uniform Hindutva ideologies (Hindi-Hindu-Hindustan) is a good recipe for disaster.
