If one thing Taliban are not, that would be remote controlled proxy for anyone including Pakistan. We did had some limited influence over them, keyword is "Limited" and under no circumstances we would want to spend that capital too quickly. The ball is American court now, Kabul is becoming irrelevant by each passing day.
We can not trust Afghans, regardless Talibs or not, if history is anything to go by. We must secure our borders at the soonest and enforce visa's for Afghans. No more free movement as before.
As for them running over Pakistan, that would remain a wet dream and nothing else. Taliban are a potent force in Afghanistan, beyond its border they are nothing. The population living right next to Afghan border does have strong ties and feelings to people across, once we have a hard border, next step would be to work towards making those ties weak, so in future our enemies can not use our own people against us.
Enough of this brotherly Islamic country BS.
I was talking about Taliban again running over Afghanistan..
