Taliban fire in air to scatter hundreds of protesters in Kabul

No need to panic. I think that it is a healthy thing that Afghans are protesting for whatever they're protesting. The Taliban have hardly been around for a week, so it seems early to blame them for wrong polices.

Afghans from different walks of life need to stand up and demand their rights. That way the government will know what people want and will be able to adjust their policies. Obviously, the Taliban had a bad record from their last administration, so you can't blame people from being skeptical. This time they want to do a better job and the public from different walks of life need to stand up and keep up pressure. Protests are a normal way of life in every single country and can be part of Afghan life as they try to build their country.

As far as Iran is concerned, I think that Pakistan needs to do a better job in getting it's point across. Same with the anti-Pakistan Afghans. There's no reason for these people to be angry with Pakistan. Pakistan may be badly mismanaged internally, but it's policies regarding Iran and Afghanistan have always been positive for the people of those countries. Afghanistan was invaded by the Russians and Americans, not Pakistan. Pakistan has just been trying to manage the chaos.

Pakistan has always been a friend of Iran. It had good relations with the Shah of Iran. Most Pakistanis also supported the Iranian revolution. We were happy that the anti-Islam West was thrown out from Iran. The mullahs of Iran were no more lovely than the Taliban of Afghanistan. But they've done an okay job, kept Iran independent from Western control at a very high price, and supported the Palestinians, which all Muslims appreciate.

Pakistan needs a better media policy to reach out to Persian speakers in Iran and Afghanistan. It seems like India is doing a better job of poisoning relations among Muslims, even while they oppress Muslims in India and Kashmir.

For Iran to make it's policies based on Indian propaganda is also wrong. To rebuild Afghanistan can be an opportunity for cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.

i read it was Taliban who invited Pakistan delegation including ISI chief .

if your invited you go . That is culture , etiquette ,manners & respect .

Imagine headlines if the chief snubbed Taliban .

there was not even an interim govt at that time. If taliban as an interim govt had invited it would be better. Now you have huge propaganda by linking isi chief with actions in panjshir and it is having an impact.

Sept 7 (Reuters) - Taliban gunmen fired in the air on Tuesday to scatter protesters in the Afghan capital of Kabul, witnesses said, as video showed scores of people scurrying to escape volleys of gunfire, although there were no immediate reports of injuries.

Hundreds of men and women shouting slogans such as "Long live the resistance," and "Death to Pakistan" marched in the streets to protest against the Taliban and what they called interference in Afghanistan's affairs by neighbouring Pakistan.

"The Islamic government is shooting at our poor people," one panic-stricken woman on the street says over sounds of gunfire in an Iranian television news video clip. "These people (Taliban) are very unjust, and they are not human at all."

so you iranians are going to act as indian bitches now? good time to provde bases to usa so that they can pound these mullahs!

If Iranians do not understand the right way than two can play the game and we can just as easily reply back in the same coin. US, Israel, SaudiArabia, UAE all gunning for Iranian throats, we can just as easily get in touch with them because you are not mending your ways and continue to host Anti Pakistan elements at the behest of India.
Its such a shame that Iran chooses to side with Cow dung worshippers instead of people who follow the Prophet (PBUH)
There is no shame there. Iran is following its national interests just like any sane country should do. Why do many of you always see thing from.a religious perspective? There is no such thing in geopolitics. Only interests matters, the rest is secondary.

we will only counter act thats all, afterall we will acting in our "National Interests"

Terrorist farsiwan protestors murdered pushtuns for the last 2 decades. Did they ever protest then?

.
You really think that Afghan refugees have that much influence that they can conduct anti Pakistan protests in heart of Tehran without support from the mullah regime??

This much naivety isn't good

We've seen pictures from two demonstrations. One which took place in Tehran gathering some 15 people, in other terms not something worth mentioning at all. And a second fairly large one in Mashhad, composed of Afghan refugees.

As for Iranian authorities allowing them to demonstrate:

1) This does not necessarily imply that the Iranian government is agreeing with their position. Protests against the government are regularly organized in Iran, and are tolerated so long as they remain peaceful.

2) What is Iran expected to do? I don't think it should repress them. Neither would Pakistan proceed in such a manner I believe. After all Iran also needs to accommodate its Afghan immigrant communities.

3) The Iranian political system is a pluralistic religious democracy rather than a monolithic regime. As indicated in other threads, there are two competing views on Afghanistan among the Iranian establishment: revolutionaries and IRGC have been working towards normalized relations with the Taleban, whilst reformists and moderates (ie liberals) have gone into overdrive criticizing the former for their approach and advocating action against the Taleban (if interested, I can provide concrete examples and links). Afghan protestors in Iran may have been backed by some influential liberals, but this doesn't mean their demands are being endorsed by the revolutionary camp and the IRGC, which at this time have the upper hand on Iran's foreign policy.

Iran treats afghans worse than trash. They have killed Afghan refugees by drowning them in water and burning them alive

The above echoes propaganda published by certain media linked to the Afghan vassal regime which the Taleban just overthrew (such as ToloNews etc). Said propaganda campaign intends to harm brotherly ties between the two neighboring nations of Iran and Afghanistan, and it is enjoying active backing from the US and other NATO regimes conducting their usual "divide and rule" policies. I am certain that the same Afghan media have targeted Pakistan in a similar fashion.

Some 40.000 Afghan nationals are studying at Iranian universities as we speak, children of Afghan immigrants - even undocumented ones - are receiving free education at public schools, and most Iranians consider Afghans as their own kin.

Also many employers in Iran are highly appreciative of Afghan immigrants for their contributions to Iranian society in sectors such as construction, municipal services, domestic work and so on.

Of course, as in every society some elements with xenophobic tendencies can be found in Iran. But this holds equally true of Europe and even Pakistan, where the safety of the Hazara community in Quetta for instance has been compromised in the past by such elements.

Finally, I'm still not sure how a topic about a local demonstration in Kabul would turn into a discussion on Iran?

Don't be emotional. That member "darius'' might be an Indian troll posing as an Iranian nationalist. No Iranian nationalist will side with a country that has been supportive of sanctions against Iran and continues to hold 7 billion of Iranian money hostage. Not to mention their extensive relations with Iran's arch enemy, Israel.

Iranians are with those who are with us in all conditions.

If Iran thought with a natural mind then it would strenghen its relations with Pakistan significantly. Drop the thought of Dominating Afghanistan or influencing Pakistani Shia. There is far more in common between those countries than to get emotional based off your religious/ethnic sect .

These types of statements and actions by the FM of Iran really alienates its relations with 90% of Pakistani who are just as nationalistic as persians are. Tell me why even Shiite in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Arab world more anti-IRI today?

Many people just want to see the war and 40 year suffering of the afghan people to end. Everyone has doubts about the taliban not just iran, but such statements add fuel to the fire and prolong the war by ethnic conflict.

These statements only help our common enemy such as the Hindu/Jewish zionist entities.

Iran had always good relations with Pakistan despite some issues. Statements from some officials are just that.. statements.. to please some factions. Doubt any action will be taken considering Taliban having full control now. Not logical.

All of this is just a distraction, the rise of China has made Pakistan and Iran naturally come together and Iran is one of the countries that saw reality and maintained a communication link with the taliban.
