Taiwan Made Fighter Jet

My father told me that the team which designed the F CK-1 were disbanded because the military decided to buy more F-16s. Alot of the engineers that worked on the F CK-1 project later found employment with south korea.
 
I think it was a bad thing on part of Govt as well as (US involvement) to abandon further development of this project, Taiwan could have developed a better modified FCK-1 perhaps with many different changes in some sort of BLK designation.
