Really a sad news to start the day with, but let this be an eye opener to the powers that be in Pakistan.

Privately run hospitals and charitable trusts can only complement a robust public health care system. Government cannot delegate the function and responsibilities of providing affordable quality public health care to the profit-driven private sector.

Formulating a national health vision/roadmap takes time, money, patience and expertise.

Would Pakistan be ready to eat grass so as to build an effective public healthcare system is perhaps the pertinent question here.

This is really sad! Sheer negligence on their part, its very frustrating that innocent lives are at risk and no apathy is bestowed on them. RIP little dude... Humanity has gone to the dogs!

Who's responsible for dehydration?

A family that has hundred thousand+ rupees for surgery and tickets can't afford the 50 rupee water bottles?

Lahore isn't Karachi or Thar Sindh, water is readily available.
IEC(Information Education Communication) and BCC(Behavior Change Communication) are two essential components of any health program geared towards disease prevention. It is the responsibility of your government to disseminate health education. Being rich or poor is irrelevant here.

Well, we must give credit where it is due.

Q:4:135:
O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both. So follow not [personal] inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it], then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.

Q:5:8: O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah , witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness.....

There have been many cases where some Pakistani received better health care in india. We must acknowledge that. A very close relative recently almost passed away of liver failure. Then they managed to take her to india & as well as a donor also from Pak. They testified of better quality of health care over there and after surgery she came back quite well. But now her sutuation is worse again. It could be case of rejection of transplant or poor management! Or jaalee medicines.. Who knows.

Water factor alone is inconsequential here if it is determined that the patient had a

Loss of body fluids:

Dehydration. The most severe threat posed by diarrhoea is dehydration. During adiarrhoeal episode, water and electrolytes (sodium, chloride, potassium and bicarbonate) are lost through liquid stools, vomit, sweat, urine and breathing.
