These general threads [links posted in above mentioned thread] can also be stuck in this general land warfare section..... however if we wish to move, then we would have to move all these in 1 section.[while keeping permanent back links]..so that missiles threads dont get scattered in different sub sections --- exception--> air to air missiles, which will remain stuck in air warfare section

The reason I didnt stick any more missile threads [other than sir fatman's thread] was that i was envisioning a 4rth sub forum in the warfare section, related to missiles and nukes etc

Kongsberg and Raytheon have delivered the first High Mobility Launcher (HML) to Norway to become part of the Norwegian Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS), which is now being marketed internationally as the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System. Based on a wheeled vehicle, the HML will supplement the existing transportable NASAMS launchers. Compact enough to be rolled on and off a C-130 Hercules, it will significantly reduce the time needed to transport and deploy the system.

The first HML for Norway's NASAMS has now been delivered. (Raytheon)
"Ground-based air defence is a vital part of a country's total defence, and the armed forces are very satisfied with the increased capability of the NASAMS air defence system," said Brigadier Frode Flølo, chief of air defence capabilities for the Norwegian Armed Defence Logistics Organisation (NDLO).

held in Zhukovsky outside Moscow on a regular Moscow Aerospace Show MAKS- 2013 JSC "Corporation" Tactical Missiles " ( Tactical Missiles Corporation ) in the pavilion at the exposition D9 introduced a new anti-aircraft guided missile RZV - MD development of" GosMKB "Vympel" .

As is easily seen , the abbreviation RZV -MD stands for " rocket " surface-to- air " short range " . According to official data presented Tactical Missiles Corporation , anti-aircraft missile RZV -MD is designed for air defense of ground forces in all kinds of combat and on the march from the blows of precision weapons , tactical aircraft , attack helicopters , cruise missiles, strategic , operating at medium , low and extremely low altitudes in intense opposition in any weather , day and night.

Maximum range engage aerial targets - up to 16 km, and the maximum height - up to 10 km . The maximum flight speed - 1000 km / s. Control system - remote control command . Warhead - high-explosive . The rocket is presented in full-scale value (presumably ), including transport and launch container ( TLC) . Mass of the rocket with TLC - 163 kg, length TLC - 2.94 m, diameter TLC - 0.24 m

In this case, presented by the WPK was affixed 9M338K . Apparently, RZV -MD is that notorious for new missile air defense system " Tor-M2 ".

S-400 are already on combat mission in central and far east regions of Russia. In 3-4 years they completely replace old S-300. S-350 was presented in "hardware" at MAKS and at Obukhov plant and seems to be ready for production. BTW it seems to be a sister for the latest S-Korean system also developed by Almaz-Antey. S-500 is stated at the stage of working draft detailed design. Experts predict production start approximately in 2020.

MOSCOW, December 28 (RIA Novosti) – The Russian armed forces will start getting advanced Buk-M3 air defense missile systems in 2016, the Air Defense Force's chief said on Saturday.

“We are now in the midst of planned rearmament to replace Buk-M1 with Buk-M2. We expect to receive Buk-M3s starting from 2016,” Maj. Gen. Alexander Leonov told the Ekho Moskvy radio station.

The Buk-M3 medium-range surface-to-air missile systems, a modernized version of the Buk-M1 system (NATO reporting name SA-11 Gadfly), features advanced electronic components and could be regarded as a completely new system.
