The fact is India cannot produce any high-tech weaponry on its own. It needs partners to produce them and so how can India be considered the 3rd most powerful country?

Lets say India and China or Pakistan go to war....can India sustain that war without requiring an arms lift?

Don't take my post in wrong sense I am not saying India deserve the #3 position but I have a probelm with your post does capability to produce weapons should be the only reason why India cannot make it to top3 I personlly think you guys should keep militaries aside and give a little attention towards social backwardness,lack of desirable growth in science and tech field , political challenges and this list goes on and on and on.. You are forgetting that the Pakistani army was in hostile ground surrounded by the enemy on all sides, had no re-enforcement and was facing an enemy 6x it's size.

Dont give pathetic excuses. A loser is a loser. as an Indian I really dont mind to accept that we humiliated badly. You also got beating of life from your traditional enemy. But so what? It happens there are winner and then there are losers in the war. We were winner in 1971 and 1999. Accept that.
