HISTORY
A Space Science Research Group was established, on advice of Dr.AbdulSalam, the Nobel Laureate, Chief Scientific Advisor to the President of Pakistan on 16th Sep 1961

Successfully launched on 07June,1962 a two stage scientific rocket Rehber-I in collaboration with NASA. Thus Pakistan had the honor of becoming the third country in Asia and the 10 th in the world to conduct similar launchings

An independent full fledged space commission SUPARCO was established on 21st May 1981
Space Program

Pursue R&D activities in space science, space technology and allied fields for achieving the objective of self-reliance

Enhance indigenous capabilities in space technology and promote peaceful applications of space sciences for socio-economic development of the country

Prepare and propose long term as well as short term space programs and plans to the government

Advice the government in all space related matters

Liaise with national & international agencies

Operation of ground stations to receive data from EO, environmental and meteorological satellites

Infrastructure and capability to utilize EO data for socio-economic development

