Suicide bomb threat in Peshawar, bombs defused

PESHAWAR: At least three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were defused by Bomb Disposal Squad personnel at Dardar Abdullah Baba in Badaber’s Sheikhan area on the outskirts of Peshawar.

BDS sources told Dawn.com the explosives were fitted with timers and were defused due to the timely intervention of the bomb disposal squad upon receiving information.

In other news, television channels reported that two suicide bombers had entered Peshawar city to carry out terrorist activities targeting high profile installations such as police stations, political gatherings, the airport and other sensitive areas.

A high security alert was issued in the city and security was beefed up after media reports.

@Leader, this is the sort of information that is passed out by intel agencies...they have done their job.

Now it is the job of the POlice, FC and other Law enforcement agencies to prevent those suicide bombers from reaching there targets.

Don't we have Signal interceptor mobile car system which will roam the city and will analyze the signal intercepted by intel agency, and as soon as this signal is reactivated or there is some activity on this signal they will pin point the signal and raid the place?

IIRC Army Signal corps employ such solutions?

Once they pinpointed the solutions, SSG made a raid and caught him and handed him over to Iran.

This thing happened after a suicide blast which killed the IRGC general in sistaan and IRAN was exerting hugh pressure on Pakistan and within a two to three weeks Pakistan caught him.

In our case, the plan is hatched in NW or Afghanistan, a suicide bomber is sent months before to the area. A transporter transports the jacket to the bomber and given the target and kaboom. There isn't alot of phone call activity from the mastermind to the bomber.

The info that the agencies get is from handlers or by intercepting the comms from Afghanistan to the second tier in NW/SW.

You didn't read my post carefully,,, Satellite interception are expensive and hence rarely deployed in mobile systems to be used in urban scenario. Mostly cell phone and land based interception solutions are employed in such mobile systems

I understood your point...... In a city like peshawar if agencies depend on cell phone interception... i dono how much success they can have ... It makes more difficult if the call made is local....(that was my point)...
