The struggle between the two industries on the project's Cabin (self-propelled gun) following the IDF went into high gear: Aircraft Industries CEO Yossi Weiss will appear this week before a committee of the MOD Defense Ministry to convince open tender cannon production.
As was first revealed two months ago Israel Defense, the General Staff decided on a new project to manufacture Tom's Cabin ownership of at least hundreds of millions of shekels. Elbit Systems has been awarded an initial budget of the MOD to develop cannon and a candidate to win the project as a sole supplier.
IAI wants to compete for the tender project in cooperation with the German KMW, is willing to transfer the production of cannon developed by the United States or Israel. IMI company also wants to integrate systems project.
IAI team led by Weiss appears to MOD on Tuesday.
The Defense Ministry said Israel Defense: "realization of the project for the future development of the IDF's Cabin is currently developing Selection Committee examined Mapai. The committee's recommendations, with the completion of the work, will be presented at the Defense Ministry director general. "
