Even Stratfor's gurus desire Pakistan's help. This is probably what the US wanted all along. It wasn't about India.

Pakistan: Afghanistan, the Taliban, and a New Plan

"Pakistani ties to the Taliban serve a strategic interest for the country by denying India a foothold in post-war Afghanistan and by countering Indian encirclement. Now, Pakistan's ties to the Taliban can also be used as a bargaining chip. Statements from Pakistan's foreign minister suggest the country may be willing to coordinate negotiations with the terrorist organization, provided the outcome is in Pakistan's interests. By dangling the carrot of negotiations, Pakistan could be able to push the United States into condemning Indian human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the more India's presence in Afghanistan grows, the more Pakistan will resist pushing the Taliban toward the negotiating table. Without such negotiations, Trump may lose his chance to cut a deal and find a diplomatic solution to the United States' longest war."

Stratfor has more understanding of Afghanistan than Trump does.
Unfortunately, Real Politik staffs are turning out to be more "complicated" than President Trump initially had wished for!!! Super Powers can't be headed by "accidental" leaders!!! They need to be trained in these crafts starting at a much earlier age. Ottomans started it the age of three....
