Statutory warning: Like cigarettes, the Indian media is injurious to your health

I for one would really be glad if someone stop Arnab and his cohorts though the Democrat in me would cry journalistic freedom. He has now created an monster in the name of shouting and nationalism that others had to jump in to copycat him to save TRP ratings. He is such an disgrace to journalistic community. I can never watch 5 min of his debates. He is there to impose his views and not others view on his forum. I wonder, are people so shameless to even appear on his shows.

Its not like Congress didn't have their cohorts and middlemen masquerading as journalists attacking and whitewashing crimes made by their leaders. But BJPs Job is to clean up that mess and not to create another monster on its own.

.
I am only against idolatry in all forms. :-) Modi worship by you guys sickens me!!

Yes, Joe is a friend. As are some of the Pakistani posters here.

idolatry?
Which BJP leader built temples for Modi?
And even if some one does, why should it matter to anyone?

It looks like your secularism is only for those people who confirms to your idea of secularism,
if it does not match, it's sickening - am I accurate in the assessment?

All the liberal/secular jamaat in India by their own definition should be respecting anyone who idolates any one. If you get sickened, you are a fraud.
Yeah being friend of good old Joe is not a badge of honor, the guy is full on Hindu-phobe

Well, I don't really watch Arnab unless I in the mood for serious liberal/secular bashing.
Indian media threw rNDtv & it's ilk at Hindus AND we threw back Arnab at it.

There is no proof of that. I need evidence, not blanket assumptions by someone named "Pothead."

BTW, I used to be a pothead as well many years ago during my studies in Europe. Have you been to Amsterdam? It's a pothead's paradise.

Oh please, you are a noob here.
I have thrashed good old Joe few times.
You want see real face of some one, a good thrashing will do it. the veneer vanishes and you can see the ugly side.

he makes a peek now and then as well, especially when you place Modi in front of him. You see people like him can't control themselves & Modi is like a red rag in front of the bull for them.

I am now wondering if you belong to the same category.

Your other posts indicate a tilt towards liberalism but then your denigration of idolatory is contradictory to liberalism. The dichotomy is very interesting..

My father is Hindu, so I am not anti-Hinduism or whatever jibe you can think of.

But I am disgusted by the idolatry in the actual world...the sickening, nauseating Modi worship by so many Indians. He's just a public servant that gets paid a salary by the Indian taxpayers. But the idol-worshiping Indians have elevated him to "bhagwaan' status.

As for the worship of idols in Hindu temples, it's the internal matters of the Hindus and I never say anything against Hindu religious practices. I consider myself a secular and a liberal.

A Hindu would never have any issue with anyone worshiping anyone.
That is the basic concept of being us Hindus..We can find god in anyone. And we don't get bothered about it. It's only the Abrahamic religions that are bothered about seeing gods around & with in us.

Let us be honest,
You only find idolatry sickening when it's Modi, I think I can easily imagine the reasons at this point into our debate, I bet they are the usual ones.

I prefer people working at the background. Like Cho or Gurumurthy. Even though they are members or supporters of RSS, Karunanidhi to Jayalalitha meet them to get their views and forming alliances. Even today DMK members meet Gurumurthy to get views on alliance and ground reports.

But Arnabs journalism is dangerous in the longer run. Its an ticking time bomb. Media trial is dangerous.

PS. Don't quote that Left guy. He is an waste of time and space. He is neither secular nor leftist nor patriotic. He is an reincarnation of inferiority.

Agree with all your points,

Will digress a bit on Arnab, he is not the first Anchor to start doing media trials & he won't be the last one.
He is a just some one who has seen huge market in being anti to the current media & it just so happens to be aligned to nationalists.
It's all about targeted marketing. He is probably raking up so much money by doing what he is doing.

That's the textbook definition of idolatry. No wonder your kind is not well-liked either in the West or the Middle-East which are fundamentally based on Abrahamaic faiths.

I am not very religious either although my Nani had tried to raise me as a proper Muslim. It didn't take root, and I embraced secular and agnostic/atheist values but at least I know the Abrahamaic religions which illiterates like you are mocking. I have studied Islam, Christianity, and Judaism and I find all of them more uplifting and reasonable than anything Hinduism has to offer. But those are just my personal views: I don't impose them on anybody.

Idolatry is wrong as it directly offends God/Creator. No matter what religion you follow. Even Hinduism at its core believes in only "one God" -- it's right there in Rig Veda, you need to look that one up.

That's actually a crime in my book, but it's your choice.

Yeah,
Liberals will decide what is crime, what is acceptable religious practices etc..

Thank you liberals for telling us what our religion is...without you we would be doomed.

You finally got it. Maybe you'll come around to our views over a blunt of fine Moroccan stash straight from the Atlas mountains.

I have a knack for converting Indians to my views, and make them betray the idol worship.

naa, I have been where you are drinking all that koolAid.
Do you know what happens a "secular liberal" learns the truth? Yeah, look at me..

Let me give you a life lesson,
btw 2004-2014, when BJP was out of power, do you know how many leaders quit and joined other parties?

Want to know how many leaders from opposition quit their parties and joined BJP from 2014?

That answer will tell you why the Hindu Right in India is here to stay.

Just because the Hindu right is here to stay doesn't make it right for the Hindus. :cheesy:

It will only lead to international isolation for India in coming months and years.

Yeah, thats what's been happening since 2014, right?

And it's very surprising secular Liberals keep shoving their ideas on Hindus....Not so surprising if you consider their agenda though.
These tricks don't work anymore.

The Isolation you speak off, is happening to our enemies & not us.
World simply can not afford to isolate 1.35 billion market - Chinese have started learning this.
