A state of emergency has been declared for the city of Ferguson on Monday following gun battle between police and protesters Sunday night marking the anniversary of Michael Brown's death.

St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger issued a state of emergency effective immediately Monday afternoon.

"In light of last night's violence and unrest in the city of Ferguson, and the potential for harm to persons and property, I am exercising my authority as county executive to issue a state of emergency effective immediately," Stenger said in a statement.

"The recent acts of violence will not be tolerated in a community that has worked so tirelessly over the last year to rebuild and become stronger," Stenger added.

The scene overnight was chaotic as police reported some 20 minutes of shooting, when people dropped to the ground to avoid flying bullets, and sprinted to cover behind cars on the streets.

Police have identified one of the alleged combatants as 18-year- old Tyrone Harris Jr., who was shot by police during the fray Sunday night, saying he is in critical condition.

Harris was charged with four counts of felony assault on a law enforcement officer by the county prosecutors, shortly before the announcement of state emergency.

However, his father, Tyrone Harris Sr., said his son is innocent, and was unarmed, according to U.S. media.

Media reports said at least three people were shot and dozens arrested overnight as Sunday's peaceful protests turned violent.

On Sunday, a group of 600 people stood in silence for four and a half minutes at the Michael Brown memorial in Ferguson, Missouri, to commemorate the slaying of the 18-year-old black young man by a white police officer exactly a year ago.

The commemorative march, led by Brown's father, Michael Brown Sr., remained peaceful during daytime on Sunday.

After the shooting, the situation is tense around Ferguson, but the protests are expected to continue Monday night.

A new Gallup poll found that only 47 percent of the Americans surveyed regard relations between blacks and whites as at least " somewhat good," declining sharply from 70 percent in 2013.

Some people just don't understand the idea of

"Shooting at the Police and the Police will simply shoot back"

Maybe they did different in China or whatever. But this is how it work in the United States.

The reason why some people, not just white, think that Blacks are thugs some time is simply because some black are actually thugs.....this kind of stunt will not get back on the good side, I mean, who will side with the criminal to begin with. Even Michael Brown senior condemn these type of shooting and quote "They wanted a positive change to Law Enforcement, not to incite violence"

Do remember, Darren Wilson was not indicted upon a Grand Jury Decision, and is clear from the charges, and before someone cry white politics, the Grand Jury consist of both black and White roughly the same ratio as in the St Louis County by law.

It is also a "microcosm" of the current state of America's racial relations, as they affect the racial Black-White paradigm.

And when we see these racial fault lines flaring up with more polarization, confrontation, and a militarized police which has become highly-armed with powerful weaponry used in military combat....... and when we see white vigilante groups such as these "Oath Keepers," many of whom believe in Donald Trump, you begin to realize that America indeed is in deep doo-doo.

Meanwhile, the foreign policy establishment is gripped by China, and can't get off their vicious pitbullish attacks against a rising China.

China-bashing and Chinese demonization by America's neolib-neocon intellectual-academic elite have all but sidetrack and derail any calm and rational discourse about America's failed urban policy and the degeneration and collaspse of America's cities, such as Ferguson, Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis, South Central L.A., Oakland, et al.

America is not in a good place now. Meanwhile, the techies in their pockets of boomlets are completely out of touch and oblivious to America's deteriorating cities.

It is not just the crumbling of physical infrastructures but a civil, social meltdown.

This is the great multiculturalism the West preaches about!

Democracy, freedom of speech, freedom to protest, freedom to bear arms, etc., is all good and well but there's always a certain section of America's demographics (you know which one) who take this too literally and use it as an excuse to fight, loot and cause havoc.

This same demographic is also the fastest growing, with the highest birthrates, and will increasingly account for more and more of America's population. These kind of riots will just become more commonplace, as this demographic becomes even larger. The West's multicultural experiment will bite itself in the behind and civil unrest and maybe even full-out civil war is possible, sometime in the future.

This is why I hope China never lets any certain unruly demographic, emigrate to China in any significant numbers. China should only take the brightest and best minds from foreign countries as foreign residents, in China.
