Quetta—Commandos of Special Services Group (SSG) would train police personnel to effectively cope with terrorism in Balochistan, said Inspector General of police Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhaira. Talking to media persons on Tuesday, he said that ATF school is being established where Army would train special squad of police to contain wave of terror in the province.

“To maintain peace in the city,”15" police equipped with 30 to 40 bullet proof vehicles would start patrolling on city roads from next week,” he maintained. To a question, IGP said following a tip off, law enforcement agencies including Frontier Corps carried out an operation in Eastern Bypass area. In exchange of fire, four armed suspects were killed while two personnel of law enforcement agencies suffered injuries.

About provision of security during Youm-e-Ali in Quetta and other parts of the province, IG said foolproof security arrangements have been put in place to avert eventuality.

Meanwhile, it is reported that a man was injured in an incident of firing in Pashtoon Abad area here on Tuesday.

According to police, the victim identified as Muhammad Khan was on way home when unknown armed assailants riding a motorbike opened fire on him and fled from the scene. As a result, he received injuries and was shifted to the civil hospital. The reason of attack could not be ascertained so far. Police have started investigation.—APP
