This buffoon is destroying Sri Lanka's close relations with China in order to please India. China has stood by Sri Lanka politically, economically and militarily and yet this man wants to chase away Chinese investment and continues to denigrate them in public. The same story awaits Pakistani-Lankan relations. He will destroy the friendship between the two countries for India's sake. He knows that India will do everything in its power to keep him at the helm of Sri Lanka's affairs. This man Ranil cannot even stand for election and win it with the will of the people, instead he uses a decoy in the shape of Sri Lanka's president Maithripala Sirisena to sneak into power through the backdoor. Absolutely shameful.

China asks Sri Lanka to protect interests of investors

China has urged Sri Lanka to respect bilateral agreements and business contracts, and protect the interests of its investors following the suspension of a multi- billion-U.S. dollar project, the Chinese Embassy said on Saturday.

At emergency meetings with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera, Chinese Ambassador Yi Xianliang also asked the Sri Lankan side to cherish the results of mutually-beneficial cooperation between the two countries, the embassy said.

The Sri Lankan government decided on Thursday to temporarily suspend the Colombo Port City project pending an investigative report ordered by Prime Minister Wickremesinghe. China Communications Construction Company, the Chinese firm involved in constructing the mega port city, had agreed to halt its work on the ground.

The Association for Sri Lanka-China Social and Cultural Cooperation, a civic group in Sri Lanka, demanded the government retract its decision as the Chinese-funded Port City has created job opportunities and benefited the local economy.

The 1.4-billion-U.S. dollar project, which was built on reclaimed land, was part of a deal reached between Sri Lanka and China under the former Sri Lankan government. The new government which took office following elections in January had wanted a review on the project.

The government of New Dehli made an official protest for the content of an article appeared on a Chinese site that aims to divide India in “20-30 small states” giving support to guerillas and nationalist movements present on the territory of the great nation or abroad.

Realistically China wont do it. They could have tried in the early 90's but not now anymore. If they go ahead then there will be repercussion for sure. With each passing decade the face of India is changing to a great extent.

Sirisena still has a minority government now. If he is sacked, then relations go back to normal. If he is strengthened, China will conclude that Singhalese only sided with China because of Indian support for the Tamils and once India abandons the Tamils (under USA pressure) by giving concessions on fishing areas and allowing military occupation of northern Sri Lanka, then Singhalese will prefer India over China.

That means China was ripped off by contract-disrespecting Singhalese nation. So we must teach Sri Lanka a lesson by destroying everything we built for them with missile and air strikes.

Good thing our H-6K bomber is in service armed with CJ-10 cruise missiles.

Why would you do that. In case you didn't notice the guy wants better relations with China and Pakistan, not with India. I hope you aren't a false flagger mate. Why would you launch air strikes ad missile raids on sri lanka when said country supports you?

The majority of Singhalese have spoken. They don't like Rajapaksa's China policy and favor India. As soon as the Tigers were finished and China invested money into Sri Lanka's infrastructure they showed their true nature. Now our missile and air strikes will make Singhalese pay the price.

Or rather he is undoing the damage done by previous regime.

We need to break so called strings of pearl which was pushed into the Indian ocean in UPA's 10 years of misrule.

Good work by new Indian Government. Next stop is maldives....Once the string of pearls is broken, we need to work on containing China by continuing and enhancing the economic relations with the east asia economies.
