Sri Lankan & Nepali Presidents Leaves for China for closing ceremony of Shanghai Expo
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa would be in China on an official visit today accompanied by Minister of External Affairs, Prof. G.L. Peiris. Ministry Sources confirmed.
Sources from the Presidential Secretariat told Daily Mirror that the President had gone to China to participate in the World Trade Fair which was being held in Shanghai.

Nepali President Ram Baran Yadav left for China on Tuesday morning for the closing ceremony of the Shanghai Expo.
Embarking on the first visit to China, the president is scheduled to attend the closing ceremony of the expo on Oct. 31 and meet Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao the same day in Shanghai, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The 17-member Nepali delegation including Minster for Tourism Sharat Singh Bhandari and Nepalese Ambassador to China Tanka Karki will be back on Nov. 1 after visiting major cities like Lhasa, Guangzhou and Xi'an.
It has been reported that areas of cooperation including hydro projects, road constructions and Chinese investments in Nepal will be discussed during the visit.
