There is no smoke without fire. Of course there were human rights violations - it happens in all civil wars and there were these violations on both sides. The Army shot that 11 year old kid. If you want closure in this dark chapter of your country's history, you should be open to the idea of the culprits being tried. It is the least you can do for your Tamil citizens.

I have watched it. It is a testimony of ex-LTTE cadres. So there's nothing much to expect from it.

Actually, I was told this by a Sri Lankan Tamil friend. I know of the human rights violations in Sri Lanka by the Indian Army during its IPKF days. I agree with you - those responsible should be prosecuted for those as well.
I think they will get closure and believe in their Government. I am not so blinded by nationalism that I think India is right. India should do the same to the Sikhs and Muslims who faced suffered human rights violations - it would make them believe in their own nation.

Yes it is ok if Tamils would get closure to their government through the prosecution. But it is not the reality. The reality is the western puppet TNA wants to restart the separatist campaign. Sri Lanka is not allowing that.

Even so SL Tamils who live in North are more than happy that they are saved from LTTE. They do not need any prosecution of SL Army.
