Votes are invalid. Why did they stamp on Gilanis name to identify ballot? It's illegal as per secrecy of ballot laws.

Because opposition and election commission argued in Supreme Court that secrecy of ballot is an obligation in constitution. Thus there is no way to identify who voted who. Don't cry now. Govt wanted open ballot but opposition and election commission blew it i Supreme Court. You reap what you sow.

I am shocked how people have guts to criticize PTI and establishment now after they are full aware how election commission and opposition sabotaged all govt plans to hold senate elections open ballot. Govt wanted open ballot to avoid these controversies as they always happened in the past because of secret ballot.

Yes because constitution demands secret ballot which opens up for horse trading.

Funny how some members here are blaming PTI and govt for the mess when it was PTI that went to parliament, president and Supreme Court to hold elections on open ballot. Open ballot was opposed by everyone including opposition, election commission, bar councils, lifafa media you name it.

We all know ECP is siding with PDM so how can PTI win against such odds?

Just say we entertain your complaint for a moment, If the 7 rejected votes are allowed then surely the 7 rejected votes in the senate elections will also have to be allowed. If that happened then Hafeez Sheikh would probably have won and then there would be no Gillani to vote for in the Chairman votes.

Another thing you are clearly missing or ignoring is the vote for the Deputy Chairman which had no rejected votes yet the PTI candidate won by 10 votes. That should tell you what really happened.
Certain members of PPP or PMLN did not want to vote for Gillani so they voided their vote on purpose rather than voting for Sanjrani (which would trigger an investigation within their own parties). Those people voted for the PTI deputy since they also didn't want a JUI-F candidate.
