Against a corporate, leveraging public-privatre partnerships along with the broad spectrum of private investments and the efficiencies that a corporate business model brings in, I will put my money on SpaceX against any govt. run agency.
Agree, I don't think Chinese state owned space agencies/companies will allow private space companies to take over their business either. Since State owned space agencies dominate there. It's difficult to see how their private space companies can be given huge state contracts to the detriment of their state owned space companies Those state owned behemoths will lobby hard to prevent that. So I think those private space companies in China will only be allowed to have a niche market in the Country which doesnt threatens the state owned behemoths businessess.
unlike their US counterparts, this comes down to the difference between both countries systems and the way they see the state and private enterprises. .
So my money is on space X all-day long. Just looking at what they have achieved in just over a decade of their existence, I can say that the gap between them and the others will only Increase not decrease.
docking live!

Impressed by Elon Musk and his ingenuity. That guy is a genius, better than him comes once in a millennium. As I said before , he should be made the man of the century. Since the changes he is bringing to our world will be ground breaking and life changing. The US really got a system in place to attract the best minds in the world.:usflag: To think that Elon is originally from South Africa and he had to move to the US to realise his dreams shows just how good the US is to foreign professionals.

He has definitely exceeded Steve Jobs by a mile in terms of being a visionary.

I was the one who was very very skeptical about Full Self Driving at night...and well here it is shutting me up.
Looks like they have figured it out.

Figured out rain too

Now just snow. Since it is approaching December we'll be hearing about it soon as this guy in snowy Michigan just got the beta...unfortunately AFTER he took this video and the snow melted

Musk is the worlds greatest engineer today. He'll probably go down as the greatest engineer the world has seen in 10-15 years. He's an incredible leader and visionary and he's absurdly intelligent. Very few can measure up in history.

If he gets the 100 person Starship into orbit and lands it back in one piece he will definitely make the history books as one of the greatest men to have ever lived.

He has definitely exceeded Steve Jobs by a mile in terms of being a visionary.

It's looking that way. And we won't really understand the exact scope and depth of his vision for another decade or more when that vision becomes fully realized (the terms visionary and strategist are similar enough to be interchangeable).

I've studied Steve Jobs methodology (among others) as a strategist/visionary, and adapted some of his strategic planning methods such as the transitory competitive advantage. It's easier to deconstruct Jobs methods because they have been executed and realized, Musk's vision is still being executed so the complete picture cannot be deconstructed yet.

Musk is the best practitioner of business strategy today, and will eventually surpass Jobs in his influence in the field of strategic planning when his methods are more widely understood.
