A year ago, I said that Erdogan is killing Atatürk's legacy and many Turkish members were in denial. Now the military, which regards itself as the guardian of Atatürk's secular state, takes matters into its own hands.

That is why elections exist, not military coups. This military takeover should be rebuked.
