What is the difference between parlement and senate? Do they both have same function in all the countries around the world?

Senate balances the power of the provinces of Pakistan, Parliament makes laws from those people in the Senate.

We have Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the two houses of Parliament. Lok Sabha members are elected in general election for forming government. Members of Rajya Sabha are elected by State assemblies. Lok Sabha can be dissolved but Rajya Sabha can't be disolved
