JEDDAH: Relatives of the 15 martyrs of the Special Emergency Forces Center Mosque suicide bombing in Asir performed Umrah on Thursday.

Mohammad Nasser Al-Khozaim of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques received them at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

“The country will always remember those who were martyred while defending the nation,” said Al-Khozaim. “Every single drop of their pure blood is a symbol of dignity and respect. They will always remain alive in our memories.”

He said that it was a big loss for the families. “Without a doubt, it is painful,” said Al-Khozaim. “But they achieved martyrdom defending the land of the Two Holy Mosques.”

A number of top officials were present at the reception for the families of the martyrs.

Meanwhile, Grand Mufti Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh said the Asir mosque suicide bomber served the goal of the devil. In a Friday sermon at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh, he said: “Many children lost their fathers in the bombing.”

He said: “Allah granted security and stability to the Kingdom and we must thank Him for these bounties and follow the instruction of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). There are many nations which suffer tragic situations, and their people suffer from diseases and they cannot cure those diseases.”

According to the grand mufti, it is necessary to follow the Prophet’s Sunnah to resolve all problems. “Our Prophet is our reference,” he said. “He showed us the way to peace.”

He explained: “One of Allah’s graces is the intellect, but many terrorists have lost their minds and have lost their bodies (in suicide bombings) and they have taken the lives of innocent people. Our Prophet advised his friends and companions to thank Allah after every prayer for His great blessings.”
