CHITRAL: The district administration of Chitral has taken six donkeys into custody in connection with the smuggling of timber in Darosh area of the district.
The wood-laden donkeys were taken into custody after Darosh assistant commissioner conducted an operation against the timber smuggling.

The assistant commissioner has directed the forest department to present the donkeys in court.

Interestingly, this has also come to light that the donkeys were very intelligent as they would smuggle timber to the desired location on their own.

Earlier in September, an employee of the forest department Omer Shah and his accomplice Imran Shah (check-post guard), who were arrested while smuggling valuable timber from the forest in the Makhnial area, have been officially suspended by Divisional Forest Officer (DF) Haripur Farhad Ali.

As per sources, Omer Shah was stealing and later on selling valuable timber of Deodar and Genus Abies (Chear) trees for a very long time in Haripur, Makhnial area. As a result, the forest was not only suffering from deforestation but its department is also losing millions of rupees.

for some it may be funny

what i have learnt drugs transport from afghanistan to pakistan on khachars . and no one monitor them , they just load drugs on khachars from afghanistan and let them go . these animals came to pakistan and went direct to owner . in case they captured no one got arrested .

I had an Iranian friend tell me many years ago that it was common for Afghans to send donkeys loaded with drugs into Iran. The same donkeys would then be loaded up with petrol and sent back into Afghanistan. The donkeys were trained to smuggle goods without any human oversight.

Subhanallah such beautiful innocent creatures. A donkey will literally give it's life defending it's master and animals. They work so hard and are mistreated.
They will have justice from Allah on the day of reckoning.

They should not have been arrested if the smuggling was less than 50 crore. Courts are always open to provide relief in such cases, they should immediately approach LHC or IHC.
