Wire transfers are expensive for frequent transactions for many users, particularly when a person is dealing with low transaction value.

Major payment gateways like PayPal do not offer their services in Pakistan. However, there is a piece of good news for Pakistani’s as the PTI government is very close to bringing PayPal to Pakistan. PayPal will help Pakistan to boost the online economy of the country.

PayPal is coming

I dont think they will come.

They said the same thing about offshore oil drilling, nothing materialised and the hype was quietly brushed under the carpet.

Let me suggest a sweet solution for that. If PayPal denies, then close all free services of youtube in Pakistan. Make them available only after payment(specially download watch later thing). Do the same with Facebook, and get money in forieng exchange like Dollar. Rest of the work will be done by twitter, youtube and Facebook. PayPal, we will see you.. Keep your blackmailing with you.

Efforts to bring PayPal to Pakistan have foundered, government officials admit.

A delegation from Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology visited the United States last month to convince the international online payment company to bring its business to the country, reports Urdu News.

The company officials told the delegation that Pakistan is not included in its three-year road map, at the moment, as it does not have adequate business opportunities to attract the firm.

Sabahat Ali Shah, a senior official of the National Institute of Technology Board told Urdu News that Pakistan was hopeful to bring the service to Pakistan in order to facilitate those citizens who earn from abroad and find it difficult to transfer their money.

However he added that PayPal reviews its roadmap every year and there is still a possibility of it entering the Pakistani market in the future.

In February, Asad Umar, the former finance minister has announced that the government was committed to bringing PayPal to Pakistan.

PayPal allows people in over 200 countries to send and receive money, and acts as an international bank account.

This is a good opportunity for GoP to start their own payment services like BHIM in India

Paypak is a system being used by local banks i.e HBL,United banks etc
It is similar to visa and mastercard.. Its new and they need to expand it to online services
