China’s Newest Export: Sending Rich Kids to Boarding School - GQ - YouTube

Why do all Chinese students go abroad to study? Why such huge brain drain?

Places of Study should be absolutely free, especially in their ability to discuss and debate anything in the world, however inconvenient to anyone including the Communist Party.

Why is it that Xi Jinping's daughter went to Harvard, when he won't even allow such a college to exist in China. Is it simply Communist Party's selfishness?

32% of all children in the United States (International students) are from China. Why is that?

Tsinghua University and Peking University don't appear anywhere near top Universities. Why is that?

Stop tagging me, you are in my ignoring list.

Then how did you get this notification.
Also, absolutely if you say so. You could have said before and I wouldn't have tagged you. I have no interest in conversing with people who don't want to reciprocate.

But, out of curiosity, what happened exactly?

. .
 good response to that kid

Or perhaps a better and more proper response would have been to actually ignore this thread, as the writer proclaims, instead of saying so like this.

An Indian who never talks anything about India but knows quite a lot about China.

I know a lot about both. And I have not come here to talk about India. I am here for the explicit reason to get to know more about Chinese military affairs, and meet the Chinese right wingers, or perhaps left wingers in Chinese parlance.

Only freedom can beget great schools.

Imagine the professors are coerce to lie, who lick assx, to self-censor or the alternative will be facing unemployment, then you will have an atmosphere of choking and stifling.

I am choked... cough cough even in Singapore.

But as I have said, you need to pay a price for freedom. And the price may be prohibitively expensive for China, whose existence as a 2000 years old unitary states, need internal alignment to leadership, or face the consequence of breaking apart.

You are not sincere.Since you want to know China, you should share us news about India for exchange, you want all the information for free?

.
It is not suprised.
As the only superpower,US has the most powerful high education. We need to learn from them.
We never take it as a serious problem as 1.3b population country, thanks for your concern.

Absolutely!
You can call me selfish. But it isn't really.

While I do get information about Chinese military affairs, I am far ahead on all other fronts compared to Chinese present here. Often times I have read news twice over before it gets reported in this forum.

I am an amateur and aspiring Sinologist.
I am not at all totally concerned about Chinese soft power, and am often times called a very pro-China guy in western surroundings, which are admittedly very negative on China.
Yet, this is perhaps one forum, where the Chinese nationalists like you extol China, much more than it deserves. According to me Nationalism is very important, as pointed out by Dr. Sun Yat Sen, yet discussion and debate, and point criticism are also extremely important.
Hence, I just try to add things in this forum named China and Far East things that are lacking. There is no shortage of China's military strength, or even China's industrial progress (which I must add, I know much more than is available here), but China's pitfalls and weaknesses are the things least discussed here. The political and economic evolution of the country, etc.
Hence, I can only hope that my Chinese friends can understand the underlying honesty in my discourse, and perhaps engage in better way.

Not only in China, there are a lot of children of powerful figures from all around the world continue their tertiary education in weatern advanced countries including US and UK. When u are rich and children of powerful people, it is better to go out to experience and learn about new things, see the world from different perspective and get some connection especially other powerful ppl. Unless the country is super poor, i would say why not. Even Malaysia ruling politician children study in those countries.

You are so stupid, it's beyond amazing. LOL We have what? over 1.3 billion people with only a few elite schools, do you expect those elite schools can handle the amount of new application? Do you know how tough is it, Gaokao national exam? It makes SAT exam in the USA look like a joke child play. LOL

This is a good reason, the shortage of elite schools and the stress of Gaokao, yet, the people who get top marks for entrance in Tsinghua or Beida, some of them still leave and go abroad to study.

Not only this, the retention of undergraduates are further poor. That is, most of the good undergraduates who want to continue their studies tend to go abroad.

This is due to the lack of elite universities as such, since even Tsinghua or Beida can't give a MIT experience.
Also, China here is far from catching up. The rankings of its institutions are moving up at a very slow pace compared to its economy. And one fears if China's economy decelarates the universities will further stop climbing the rankings list.

There is a curious case. In forbes global most valuable companies, top 4 are Chinese, and 5 of top 10 are Chinese. Yet no Chinese university figures in top 50 in China's own ranking system.

So, while the progress has been made, it is not enough to catch up to western institutions even in years.

Also I think China could have used spending more on Education and research, instead of bailing out steel plants, coal mines, construction with yet more easing, lending money etc.

Malaysian elites who keep preaching Islamofascism should send their son go study in Taliban cum ISIS land. Instead all end up in white man school, screwing and boozing like crazy.

In short, Malay elites are piece of shitt and Malay peasant have no brains and keep self-sadism hoping that Allah be happy. Instead Malay elites are happy. Its time for Malay girl to tear away their tudung say tell their elites fcuk you.

Below is PM Najib son Ashman Najib.

What's wrong with go abroad to study to begin with? In fact, I encourage my people to go abroad to study, expand their knowledge, learn the best from the West, and go back home to teach the people. There is NOTHING wrong with their choice as long as they do not pose national security threat.

Sometimes truth hurts .I dint expect this from Super Power China
I wouldn't be laughing if I were you, my lovely Indian friend. LOL
