Officials from Andaman command stated that, Chinese warships attempting comes close to the Andaman at lease twice every three months, they also said, they don't have enough powerful assets to counter the Chinese ships or Show of force against the Chinese Ships, Andaman command has only some older Landing ships and Patrol Boats, which is used for conducing exercises and surveillance, those ships lacks of primary long range surveillance radar and offensive weapons like missiles, it has only a 30mm close in weapon systems and 76 mm Naval gun, The Andaman air wing only has some small Dornier Do 228 surveillance platform, where Bigger size ASW planes comes as temporary deployment,

The Chinese mostly snoop around the Andaman and car Nicobar Island using it's modern frigates Destroyers and Diesel electric submarines, while India didn't deployed such large warships there, the Chinese forced the Myanmar government to lease their Coco Island to China, and then they established a small Naval outpost in that Island, the coco Island is just some 70 mile away from Andaman Island, while there is no possible agreements of the lease of Coco Island to China, almost all Myanmar officials deny any agreement with China,

If the Chinese Navy enters into Bay of Bengal, then it would be major nightmare to India, in case of any war, India has an upper hand against aggressive china if comes to defense, The Andaman command can conduct major offensive operation against China, if they tries to enter Bay of Bengal via Malacca straight, if China managed to defeat Indian fleet in Malacca straight, they contentiously steer towards Andaman, and Coco Island where they can easily strike far east Indian Targets. So Andaman is a major strategic place when comes to war against China,

However The current Security Situation of Andaman is not enough to repel Chinese advancement or didn't have the capability to counter Chinese fleet pass through Malacca Straight, the Andaman command officers repeatedly send dozens of letters to the government about the Chinese advancement in Coco Island and Andaman and Car Nicobar Island, however now only government has contemplates to convert Andaman command into modern Military base, while saying about the security situations the Andaman command officials told even there is no proper air defense missiles in the Island,





The Andaman command has good runway and Airbase, which can support large size of Planes, during the missing Malaysian Airliner, the Andaman Air bases assisted the search by operating P 8 and C 130 J Planes, however they are not permanently deployed in the base, they were deployed in temporary basis,

Last year the Andaman officials, tells the government about possible modernization in the Coco Island, include upgraded Runway which can support bigger Cargo planes, they reportedly beefed up the signal intelligence post in the Island which can monitor Indian Naval ships movements around bay of Bengal, which pose a serious security concerns to Indian interests, however so far the Coco Island is not fully ready to conduct missions, it can work as a Forward operating base to the Chinese Air forces,

Earlier the Navy suggested the Government to Set up a Nuclear submarine base in Andaman, with a deployment of Nuclear and Diesel electric attack submarines, even two years after on still no development about that deployment, the Command's wish list includes a surface action fleet, mixed up with Destroyers, Frigates, ASW Corvette's, Missile vessels, and fast attack crafts, Fleet Tanker, along with a Large LHD ship, a formidable Surface action group enough to defend and Attack Chinese fleet if they tries to enter the Bay of Bengal,

Air force earlier says that they will deploy a squadron of Su 30 MKI fighter for Air defense, and a squadron of Naval MiG 29 K Fighters for anti shipping role, which can work more than a super carrier, pose a heavy combat against China if they tries to broke Air Compound, deploying one or more Akash SAM Squadron along with AAA systems with Barak based SAM batteries, with land based coastal missile batteries, Navy has a RFP for such coastal missile batteries, the status of the contract is unknown, as by Army they plans to increase the size of Brigade into divisional for Biggest offensive and beach landing,

However Ministry now only taken the issue seriously, and all these above modernization need more than five years to became operations, until the Andaman command is runs with short leg.
