And before your harp on Pakistan's attitude, i suggest you look in the mirror and see the arrogance you lot have developed since Modi came to power. If India can make its own arrangements with other countries, so can Pakistan and you have already tried squeezing out Pakistan and isolate it. Guess what you failed. You are welcome to try it out again.

Of course Pakistan can make its own arrangements, unlikely though that they can do so with SAARC countries. Geography is the barrier. The point I was making is that if SAARC isn't working, then other groupings will follow that will leave Pakistan out. You are aware that it was only Pakistan that was blocking some of these agreements, every one else wanted them.

It is not arrogance that had developed, it is exasperation. No one is willing to waste time on an organisation like SAARC if it remains hostage to India-Pakistan problems. After all, India cannot look at alternatives if the other countries didn't agree. The fact that the other countries decided that this grouping is what they want clearly shows the writing on the wall. This PM of India has laid a lot of stress at economic cooperation with neighbouring countries, more than any before. Pakistan feels unable to join, that is Pakistan's right. What is now being taken away is the de facto veto that Pakistan had in SAARC, where it could say that if India didn't give Pakistan what it wanted, there won't be any movement in SAARC because Pakistan will block it. That bluff has now been called. essentially Pakistan is now looking at SAARC with Pakistan or SAARC without Pakistan, even if that will be called something other than SAARC.
