Disgusting and shameful behaviours of ECP members in hearing the case against Senate Election of Yousaf Raza Gilani .... It seems ECP is acting as lawyer of PDM and Yousaf Raza Gilani

Important thing to hear is that 2 members out of 4 member commission are nominated by Khursheed Shah the former opposition Leader from PPP and the other 2 members are nominated by Shahbaz Sharif as the current Opposition Leader ....

Both these should be declared defunct through judicial order. Government should take up Supreme Court on her comments regarding these institutions.

Deep rooted corruption & feudal lordship is beyond the point of cure and recovery. Sorry to say but almost every institute has such people being appointed on political motivation or their relation with certain political leader(ship) so that their loyalties can become handy at the time of need. Unless a fierce accountability; there is less hope to expect anything. Leeches of past political parties are not going to let it go that easily. We will need to take some harsh & hard decisions for which, we as a Nation needs to stand as the leadership alone whether IK or Supreme Court or any other institute/personality can't do anything.

I’m aware, my point is simply that this is only the beginning, if those and other PTI members are swayed, they can bring down the government. They are not yet in a position to do this, and probably neither the the opposition nor they want to make any hasty move.

PDM wants to bring the govt, but they have extreme lack of trust and leadership. Imagine , Mufti Mehmood one of reason of Bhutto judicial murder and now grand son of Bhutto is sitting with son of Mufti Mehmood.

senate election will be tought o win, it will be close call but none the less

the reason is PTI/allies losing three seats(gillani, 2 in sindh), no its short of 4 seats, which would have not been the case

so whats the option?

PTI cant talk to balochistan senators and try to nudge them to support sijrani, that is possible and most likley phenomena

remeber senate chair is very important to get legislation bumped back to NA for joint sessions

lastly, there is a wild card that PTI can play, that is to change senate composition via pushing for GB and south punjab province and then reconducting elections on their seats..this is wild card and has its own drawbacks.

however it can push for GB province, opposition will be stuck between support vs no support and if GB gets equal or even half of the seats in senate that will over throw everything in PTI favour for pretty long time (Senators for 6 years)

thisis what i would do, push for GB in NA and senate..use it to poltical advnatage

PM Imran Khan welcomes senator-elec Abdul Qadir into PTI fold.


ISLAMABAD: Senator-elect Muhammad Abdul Qadir, who won the Senate polls as an independent, has joined the PTI and reposed confidence in PM Imran Khan, Geo News reported Tuesday.

According to the report, the newly-elected lawmaker met PM Imran Khan in Islamabad and announced that he would be joining the party.

The prime minister welcomed his joining.

Well I am upset, not at PTI losing but the end results the system is producing. PTI never had senate majority, nor was expected to gain anyway. The issue is the case of YRG, how a person who stole from what was meant for charity, was then also disqualified from PMship to save Zaradri’s corruption, is back not only as a member but running for senate chairman which is equivalent to president. I mean if PDM had to make a senate chairman - fine well within their rights - but YRG! It looks like they are immune of any political costs for their crimes - they truly can get away with crime, which sets a wrong precedent in your society that “crime actually pays”. If we did not have a strong religious ethos in our society, I think we would have ended up like Mexico, a country completely owned by Cartels and Drug lords.
If such an allegation was proven against a politician in west, his/her career would have been over for good (well Donald Trump is an exception though, whether his case remains an exception is to be seen).
But on topic, ECPs proceedings are favoring PDM more. I never expected anything regarding YRG case from them, however I do want that sanctity of peoples vote be protected at all costs ie one man one vote, and those votes only decide who wins in an election - and not like what used to happen in Karachi under 2000s of MQM or still happens in interior Sindh by PPP where practically there have not been any elections for decades.

That’s fair enough, but then we should be consistent and apply all these standards fairly, people who were accused of and removed on the basis of corruption have had their esteem restored and returned to service, people convicted of corruption and disqualified have played vital political roles and have been given access to the highest public offices of this country. I am only speaking of the sitting government here, it just doesn’t sit well to hear their moral virtue signalling frankly, just as people dismiss PDM’s crocodile tears.

The same backstabbers who abandoned IK in this vote, include those who abandoned their parties a few years ago, people referred to them as “electables”, “wickets falling” etc. When horsing trading favoured them, it was said that this was because a few have come to their senses and have placed votes “zameer ke mutabiq”, but now that it’s an example of gross undermining of democracy.

We should treat all scum equally, as soon as the matter is politicised, it’s principles are utterly lost. That’s why I don’t like all this multipronged narrative being created by the government, even though I’ve never been a fan of YRG, not even close. And I repeat again, if this episode has upset people, I’m sorry to say that worse is to come. I’d like to see IK complete five years (God willing), but that is a question mark now.

Lol....I don't understand how can you take action against those bribing but not against who is taking bribe ...we need to ask whether ECp following legal process or not...
pTI asking ECP to accept video which by the way has no legal standing or admissible if made without permission of person ...we need to decide gillani winning Is unfair but when sanjrani did win it was fair ...how ? Numbers are less in both cases ....this is dilemma everybody has own standard of ethics
