Was reminiscing earlier and jogged my memory in this inning Afridi took part in. He scored 77 off 34 balls. I have watched some cricket in my time but this is superb hitting. I thought i would let you judge for yourself!! enjoy!!

He was always a destructive batsman but was very inconsistent , which was why his talent was never fully utilized for the Team 's benefit.

You may have a point. Thing is due to the fact in the last couple of years his bowling has been really good he was exciting to watch with bat and ball.

Better to concentrate on batting rather than focusing on multiple responsibilities . This has often been the ruin of many good players . Eg. Irfan Pathan , Shoaib Malik etc .

Besides Afridi's circumstances were weird. For most of his prime , he was sent at 6 down ostensibly in the role of a finisher but which often led to his being given merely 6-7 overs to bat .

Talent wise certainly , no comparison but it illustrates how good , useful players are distracted from their core competency.

Its the same with giving Captaincy to a talented player . Some of them can handle the extra pressure , some cannot .

Though Afridi was inconsistent and did not perform always so the Team Think Tank might have decided to utilize his bowling talents as well.

You should have known----Afridi started as a bowler---that is what he wanted to stay as---they made him the pinch hitter----he has gone back to his bowling--which he always wanted to do.

He should have been better utilized in one dayers and T20 as an opener alongwith Abdul Razzaq----6th and 7th place iff too late for them.

Afridi was a great bowler
Batting is second and very helpful

But for me, he always remained one of the top bowlers from Pakistani side, probably the best fielder, energetic and also helpful batsmen at certain times.

He,being hot temper, is lousy unprofessional cricketer overall. He is no longer 16 year boy hitting superb sixers anymore. Everyone in Pakistan teams has problem issues with him. Contrary to him, his wife wear niqab, lol.

Actually it was Misbah and Younis who lost against india---isn't that what happened----and as for his temper----there is a problem in pakistan---a lack of training to athletes in how to behave in public---what to say---what not to say----.

Athletes need to trained by MENTORS in how to talk in public----how to respond to questions---what to say and what NOT TO SAY. People need to understand---all world class athletes have something extra-ordinary in them---some are very temperamental---and that is okay as well---some are calmer than the others and that is fine too----there is no athlete who doesnot have an attitude at one time or another.

But if this attitude continues---then it s problem of the management who didnot take charge right from the gitgo---.
