DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Several people feared dead and injured in an explosion near imam bargah Kotli Imam Hussain here on Friday, sources said.

According to reports, the blast occurred during funeral prayer of a person Sher Zaman, shot dead in a target killing incident on Thursday. Several people were attending the funeral prayer when the explosion happened.

The injured were shifted to hospital. High police officials have reached the scene.

Several people are feared wounded after a bomb exploded at a funeral procession in north-western Pakistan, police say.

The attackers targeted the funeral of a Shia Muslim man who was gunned down on Thursday, police said.

The blast took place in Dera Ismail Khan, a town close to Pakistan's semi-autonomous tribal area, which has a history of sectarian violence.

The town has witnessed strife between Pakistan's majority Sunnis and minority Shias.

Hundreds of people have been killed in a wave of suicide and other attacks over the past 18 months.
