Serving Brigadier arrested for suspected links with Hizbut Tahrir

If not according to Islam- then why so much struggle for a separate country- we could have lived not according to Islam under Hindus very easily- Dont ignore the fact that the majority of Muslims who supported Jinnah for a separate country wanted an Islamic state govern by Islamic law- thats how Jinnah won their votes-

Just because Jinnah was of secular beliefs doesn't mean that the Muslims that supported him for a separate nation were secular aswell-

If not according to Islam then why?

I have answered this many times and I will answer it once more for those who can't be bothered to read Pakistan's history.

Jinnah's argument was that in British India, the difference between a majority (Hindu) and minority (Muslim) had become so profound that they were classified by their religion and not as Indians alone hurting the state they were in. The ever growing communal tensions and agitations meant that the two groups were more concerned about fighting and demeaning each other rather than working for India. He even accepted the Cabinet Mission Plan and all it did was further cement Jinnah's view that the two groups could not and cannot work together, this was all at the expense of the nation.

With the creation of Pakistan, he said that we can remove this friction and allow India and Pakistan to flourish together as partners, as two nations side by side. With the creation of Pakistan, Indians would only become Indian and Pakistani's would only become Pakistani's, not Muslim, Hindu, Christian or Parsi or any other identity that causes negation to the state.

Jinnah never stated that it was going to be an Islamic state, this brought him the ire of the religious clerics of British India who opposed Pakistan tooth and nail. Jinnah went onto find support amongst other groups who worked with him and this brought even more aggression towards him.

Jinnah won because he promised a land for Muslims, not an Islamic state.

The Muslims who supported him knew that Pakistan was going to be a land for all, not just Muslims, everyone would be equal and they will all be classified as Pakistani's and Pakistani's alone, not by religions, caste or creed.

The Muslims who did support him were of secular persuasion and were noted leaders of their own groups or sects.

Here is a picture of the roundtable conference, look these people up and then tell learn about this state.

Well Jinnah was alive a year into Pakistan's creation and he did not implement Sharia or any other Sharia provisions for the country.

Similarly he chose a Hindu, J. N. Mandal, as the first Minister of Law and Labor for Pakistan. Now if he wanted to implement Sharia Law, why would he hire a Hindu to overlook this integral aspect of Law in this nation.

Alleged Hizbut Tahrir links: Brigadier opts for court martial
By Qaiser Butt
Published: July 17, 2011

ISLAMABAD:

Brigadier Ali Khan, who was arrested in May for his alleged links with the banned militant outfit Hizbut Tahrir (HuT), has opted to be tried by court martial, The Express Tribune has learnt.

Brig Khan’s decision came soon after an inquiry board informed him that the allegations leveled against him had been substantiated. Brig Khan rejected the inquiry board’s findings and asked the officials concerned to prove the allegations before the court.

Brig Attique of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) declined to comment on the case or speculate whether he (Brig Khan) would face a military court.

An army official said that investigations against the arrested officer were still under way, even after two months. An inquiry was initiated after Brig Khan was arrested in May.

He was to be retired from the army on July 9 after completing his service tenure but he remained under detention.

The arrested officer will be allowed to hire a defence lawyer from among the legal branch of Pakistan Army, a source familiar with the procedure said. He “can also hire a civilian defence counsel to contest his case in the military court under the Pakistan Army Act”, the source said. The army detained Brig Khan, who was at that time serving at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, a week after the US incursion in Abbottabad on May 2.

The brigadier was charged for his alleged ties to extremist organisations, including the banned UK-based organisation HuT. A day later, four army majors were also arrested for their alleged links with HuT. It is yet to be ascertained whether the other four army officers will also be put on trial along with Brig Khan.

Meanwhile, security agencies arrested HuT deputy spokesperson Imran Yousafzai from Islamabad earlier this week. According to the HuT announcement, Yousafzai who is second-in-command of HuT in Pakistan was arrested when he was on his way to meet a local journalist. Security agencies arrested another Hizbut Tahrir activist from Islamabad right after Yousafzai’s arrest. Three other HuT activists were arrested from Islamabad and Multan.

Demanding the release of their activist, HuT has warned authorities that their “struggle…will continue unabated”.

Officials familiar with the army procedure of court martial are expecting a joint trial for the arrested army officers and the HuT activists.

According to a Supreme Court ruling, a civilian can be tried by the military tribunal if the person is implicated in an offence against the Pakistan Army, said lawyer Qazi Mohammad Anwar.

The Express Tribune has learnt that the arrested HuT activists were accused of providing “inflammatory” material to army officers, besides urging them to work against their high command and the civilian government.

Very well said

By the way all these sharia law advocates had already declared Jinnah as Kafir e Azam and said they didn’t need Pakistan to implement sharia hence they used to call it Na-Pakistan.

and as far as sharia law is concerned, UK already has an Islamic fully functioning under the Islamic principles and they are willing to pass sharia law for the Muslim families who want to spend their lives and resolve their social and business issues according to sharia law.

the point is, the nonMuslims are far more forthcoming regarding the implementing of Islamic laws for
Muslims as long as they don’t advocate declaring jihad on the state while continuing to claim state benefits. So really either try UK or Afghanistan.
We managed to live without it for 60 years , and am sure we can continue to do so without compromising our faith.
