Islamabad: The International Seminar on Air Power (ISAP) concluded at Air Headquarters here Friday.
Speakers and observers from 16 allied countries participated in the two-day seminar conducted under the auspices of the Pakistan Air Force. The speakers presented their views on the use of Air Power in modern day warfare.
Air Marshal Saeed Muhammad Khan, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was the chief guest at the concluding session of the seminar.
Five speakers delivered lectures/ presentations in the final session. which encompassed the theme of ‘New Trends in Air Power Technology’.
Colonel Sergio CAVUOTI (Italian Air Force), Colonel Lio Yong (PLA Air Force) and Mr Zhang Yiguang (CATIC, China), Group Captain Hakim (PAF) and Dr. Mateenuddin Qazi (NESCOM) were the speakers of this session. Military observers from Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar and France also attended the seminar.
Addressing the closing session, Air Marshal Saeed Muhammad Khan said the event provided representatives of allied nations an opportunity to share their real time experiences in today’s environment. "I am sure it would go a long way in enriching our thought process on application and utilization of air power," he said.
The seminar encompassed three salient features of the air power i.e. application of air power in fighting against irregular warfare, ever growing role of non lethal warfare and the stunning growth of aviation technology.
The speakers highlighted these important aspects while focusing on the increased relevance of air power in today’s world.
